I'm Home

Friday nights should be movie nights. And Nanami is still not home. I already prepared the sofa bed, the food that we're gonna eat while watching, dimmed the lights but he's still not here. I know it's kinda romantic but he suggested this type of setting anyway.

We've been doing this for 2 months now since I got here. He's supposed to keep me safe and because of that, my Friday nights are shifted to this than going out drinking with my friends. It was fine though. And he promised to keep me sane while being here in this prison. Not totally prison. He provided me everything. I am free to roam around except for going out.

There was this one time I ranted out on him that I wanted to go out and such because I am not a house person. I cried in front of him but he didn't do or say anything. When I started to calm down, he offered this deal to me. He said, "I will give you anything you ever wanted and I promise to spend your Friday nights into a good one rather than a boring night after work. And during the weekends, we would spend the days with pools and chess and books. But you have to promise me too that you will not go out of this house. Ever."

"But why? Why couldn't I go out like before?"

"Because you've been chased by demons that killed your parents and we are still doing the best we can to end them."

I went silent. My parents were killed when I was 7. But, "how did you know?" I asked.

"Jujutsu Tech informed me this. All we could do is protect you." I looked down. I didn't know what to say.

He offered his hand and said, "come on, you need to rest." Starting that day, I accepted the offer. He is true to his words. Weekends are my favorite days now. Every 7 o'clock of Friday, we would start the movie except now. This is the first time he didn't get home by 7. I wonder what happened to him. I got worried.

To be honest now, I started to like him too because of what he did. Weekdays are boring because he is seldom home but when weekends, the fun is never absent.

I tried calling him but it kept ringing. I waited by the window while checking the time every now and then. It's already midnight. The pizza got cold, the ice cream started to melt so I put it back in the refrigerator and so does the sodas. I hope he's okay.

After I finished cleaning up, I waited again by the window, sitting. Until I fell asleep.

I was startled when someone caressed my face. "I'm sorry. I --," I didn't let him finish. I hugged him and cried. He caught me and soothe me as he returned the hug.

"It's okay. You're safe. You're home."

"I'm home," and hugged me tighter.

Fin.
