"I'm Eliza?" Eliza asked. "I don't understand."
"I'm sure you're confused," Gregamoore replied, "but I will try to answer any questions you may have."
"Is this why I've never been given an actual name? Just "young one"?"
"No, that's just because I'm not good at names, and the other guys didn't have very nice names for you."
"Will you teach me magic?"
"When you're responsible enough."
"What can I do to prove to you that I'm responsible enough? I'll do anything."
"Very well, learn the light spell."
"The light spell?"
"It's a basic neutral spell. Watch my demonstration, then, you're on your own." Gregamoore put his index fingers together and slowly pulled them away from each other. "Illumi!" Gregamoore yelled. From the tips of Gregamoore's fingers light emitted from a small glowing orb.
"Incredible!" Eliza exclaimed.
"I hope you focused," Gregamoore said, "because now, you're on your own."
Gregamoore left the room, closing the door behind him. Eliza stood up from her bed, put her index fingers together, and slowly pulled them apart. "Illumi!" She yelled. Nothing. "This is hard!" Eliza whined, "Maybe I'm not trying hard enough. Wait! We have WizNet for a reason. But how do I conjure up the WizNet page?" Eliza glanced over at a bookshelf. She made her way over and picked out a blue book. The title read 'A wizard's guide to the psyche arts'.
"Let's see if the light spell is in here. Or at least WizNet." Eliza said to herself as she analysed the table of contents. "Here we go! 'Page 46: How to cast a light spell: The light spell is a very important spell, despite it's appearance as just a portable torch.' I thought torches were portable. I mean, you probably wouldn't have to worry about the fire part." Although partially confused, Eliza resumed her research. "'The light spell requires an optimistic attitude to learn, but once mastered, it can be cast by even the most depressing of downers. First, connect your index fingers. Feel the positivity run through your veins. Slowly pull you fingers away and say "illumi". If done correctly, a glowing orb will appear, the brightness of the orb being dependent on how positive you are. If done incorrectly, you could-' SUMMON A DEMON?!?!" Eliza began to panic.Gregamoore was outside building a snowman. Eliza kicked the front door open. "The door's unlocked, you know!" Gregamoore exclaimed, turning towards Eliza. "Dad, I need your help!"
"What's wrong?"
"I tried casting the light spell, but I may of summoned a demon instead."
"Alagamooragg..."
"Alaga-who?"
"Alagamooragg is the most powerful demon of darkness to exist. After I banished him, he swore revenge. I sensed his spirit stalking me, waiting for me to slip up on the light spell, ever since. Today, I no longer sensed him, but he wanted me to let my guard down. He used you, Eliza."
"You can send him back, though, right?"
"It's... not that simple. For the convenience of this plot, you can't banish the same demon twice. You did read "Wizarding 101", right?"
"We don't have that book."
"It's a section of WizNet. You are honestly telling me you've never opened WizNet before?"
"Well, it's not like I was ever taught how to open it." Eliza snapped back. "You know, because I've never been taught magic befo-" Eliza is cut off by a growling noise. Gregamoore and Eliza look in the direction of the growling. "What's that?" Eliza asked.
"It's Alagamooragg. Get inside, now!" Gregamoore commanded.
Eliza retreated, but Gregamoore stayed, ready to fight the demon of darkness. The snow stopped. The sky turned dark. Alagamooragg's eyes became more visible. As the beast stared into his soul, Gregamoore summoned his staff. Alagamooragg lunged. Gregamoore dived out of the way. "Umbani!" Gregamoore cried. He aimed his staff at Alagamooragg and lightning shot out. Alagamooragg avoided his attack, pouncing again. This time, Alagamooragg was directly on top of Gregamoore, trying to shove his long, sharp, shadowy claws into Gregamoore's eyeholes. "Ingosi ku Hellish Peak!" Gregamoore shouted. A blast came out of the staff, creating a portal to the top of a volcano. With all his might, Gregamoore threw Alagamooragg to his side. The demon of darkness fell through the portal. Gregamoore closed the portal before checking if his attacker's fate was sealed...
