One fateful Saturday, Bokuto and Kozume were told by the responsible two to go buy groceries. They were just sitting around playing Animal Crossing, so they got dressed and left the house to scavenge for food.

Kozume watched the list appear on his arm as Bokuto drove them down to the store. They were both tired, so they wanted to get in, get out, and probably sleep for the rest of the day.

And yeah, there were still 12 hours left in the day, plus 6 more in the morning, but they could do it. One time Kuroo had the chore of waking Bokuto up from sleeping for a whole weekend. Akaashi had been stuck getting Kozume after letting him sleep for, no shitting you, 80 hours straight. Over 3 days.

It was intense. Kozume was mad for a solid week. It was always like that with them, too, they'd either sleep too much or not at all. There was zero in between.

"You think Keiji will be mad if I get hot chocolate?" Bokuto asked, examining a box of hot chocolate packets.

"I don't think he could get mad at that." Kozume responded. "If you're about to ask about gummy worms, then yes, he will be mad. But I won't tell him."

"Yes!" Bokuto said in a hushed-whisper. "I could kiss you, Kenma."

"Not in public, you oaf."

"That's why I said 'could' you cute little kitten."

"Stop..." Kozume whined, turning towards a different aisle. He took a step and a half forward before recognizing the man in front of him and turning back to Bokuto, pulling him away.

Bokuto tilted his head and asked, "What was that about?" Kozume shrugged and looked through the list, then at the shelves. Bokuto brushed it off as a random bought of anxiety-induced paranoia.

"We needed sauce." Kozume stated, dropping the jar into the cart. "Can't forget that."

Bokuto looked skeptical, but gave a small, "okay." That felt a lot like something to distract him, but whatever. Through the years, Bokuto learned not to question these things.

They were walking around for a few more minutes when Kozume's face hit Bokuto's back.

"Why did you-" Kozume stared ahead.

"Hi..." Bokuto said quietly, "how are you?"

"I'm fine." His dad responded awkwardly. Kozume tugged at Bokuto's sleeve, hoping he'd say "bye" and be on his way. No matter how many times Kozume said he'd beat up Bokuto's father, the man had Kotaro's build and was taller. No-go for Kozume.

The awkward stare continued for a few more seconds, Kozume eventually flicking Bokuto on the head to snap him out of the odd trance.

"It was, uh... well, I don't want to lie and say "nice". We did run into you." Kozume said spitefully, tugging at Bokuto's sleeve again. The boys started to turn before Bokuto's dad called out a shy, "wait!"

"...What?" Bokuto nearly spit. His father suddenly looked down and chewed his lip.

"Can we... talk? Any day, you can pick a time and place. There's so much I want to tell you about and... and need to apologize for. You can bring whoever you want with you. I just want a few minutes." Kozume huffed and turned away.

"I guess so," Bokuto replied. Kozume spun back around and grabbed Bokuto's shirt for the millionth time.

"Kotaro, I love you, but are you fucking insane?!"

Bokuto shrugged and took a breath. "Tomorrow at 2. The Ocha O Kobosu coffee shop. All of my boyfriends are coming." Kozume watched Bokuto turn his back and walk away with the groceries they had luckily finished getting already. The smaller flipped off Bokuto's dad as he walked off.
