In her hands, Reiki held the cat he had been taking care of for a few weeks. Seiko seemed to sense Miya because she turned to gaze at the ebony-haired boy before the bluenette placed her on the top of his head.

The tips of his ears turned a light, rosy pink as he heard the red-head speak, "Don't do it, Langa." But he paid no mind as he took the cat off his head. Knowing full well that the Canadian boy would accept his request.

Langa, the rookie, seemed to contemplate his decision, "This guy is on a different level," the red-headed slime continued. "You're a snowboarder, right?" The boy didn't wait for an answer for either of them, "I'd like to see... your skating that won against Shadow." It seemed that was all he needed to push the bluenet in the right direction.

"Shadow... I'll accept the challenge." It was almost too easy. "Stop it! Don't get cocky just because you nailed an ollie!" The annoying slime protested loudly. All of a sudden, Miya felt a pair of small, soft hands on his cheeks, pulling and prodding at them. "Hey, hey, you have soft cheeks." The girl said.

He jumped back with rosy cheeks, "Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" But she said nothing as she snickered into her hand. "This guy is a national team hopeful!" Reki protested loudly, behind the counter, Manager Oka looked lost and confused. But his cat(?) walked to the two middle-schoolers.

"I'll do it." Langa wore the same expression he had on when he had accepted his part-time job at DOPE SKETCH. Seiko nuzzled Miya's cheek, "I'll think about... what we should bet on."

Reiki grabbed his wrist and dragged him off just as he finished his sentence, "Hey! Wait! Hasegawa!" He groaned. The girl whirled back to him with a lopsided smile, "Call me Reiki, it's easier."

She pulled him along to the boba shop, running through crowds of people in the streets. "Here again?" He could hear his cousin's amused voice as they entered the building. "I wonder why you let her get away with everything," his bemused thoughts irritated the short boy.

Miya glanced over at the girl who seemed to be thinking about her order on the other side of the counter, "Listen here, you stupid slime. I'm not allowing her to get away with anything!"

The older boy did nothing but laugh at him, "Ha! That's hilarious!" Miya glowered at him, yet Hideki was unfazed by his cute cousin's harsh glare. It seemed like Hideki knew too much about him, how could he not? The black-haired boy glanced, out of the corner of his eye, to the girl who stood beside him.

Nope, he didn't like her. Definitely not, he hated her, loathed her very existence.

Yet, he still found himself standing next to her as they ordered food in the middle of the night at the nearest McDonald's.
