Black Stallion Returns. The edit to the end scene.

Giving Him Back.

The scene from the Black Stallion Returns movie was not what the book had and this is my take on what the ending scene should have been from what they had it as. If they had done it this way, it would leave the series open for more movies.

This was done as part of a screenplay for the next movie The Son of The Black Stallion which I had done, though I will never send what I did to the family of the late Walter Farley. I did have it on Fanfiction dot net before they didn't want screenplays up. I hope you like the end scene of The Black Stallion Returns my version of how it should have ended.

PRELUDE:

FADE IN:

The camera pans over the great desert stronghold of Abu ben Ishak, as the giant herd of ARABIAN HORSES went galloping behind a giant BLACK STALLION. ALEC started to walk away from ABU JA' KUB BEN ISHAK and his granddaughter TABARI in the great desert home of his beloved stallion, the BLACK. He glanced back towards the herd of horses before he turned back to Abu and his granddaughter.

ALEC;

Maybe one day....I'll return for him. You will take....good care of him?

ABU;

You have my word on it, Alec. I will take good care of your stallion. You will have nothing to fear from us. I would like to talk with you in private, Alec. It deals with Shetan....I mean the Black.

They headed into the home of ABU ISHAK. Abu led ALEC into his study which overlooked the pasture where the horses ran. He could see the BLACK racing alongside another BAY COLT before increasing his speed and passing him with his mane and tail flying behind him.

ABU ISHAK;

Alec, there is one thing I must say to you before you leave my kingdom to return to the States.

ALEC turned to look at Abu, as he sat down on the floor;

I know you would love to give me Shetan....the Black...but this is his home and he belongs here, I see that so clearly now. His blood will bring you much wealth of good foals, Abu. I know.....he will.

ABU, watching the Black racing alongside some of his horses;

Yes, I know. But to give Shetan....away would throw away many countless of generations of Arabian horses that my forefathers have bred to get....Shetan. I want you to know this.....that I am planning on placing Shetan...I mean your Black into stud, and before many months there shall be a foal. When that foal is born...it shall be yours, Alec, and I shall send him to you.

ALEC, staring at his face in complete shock;

Y...you mean, sir. The first foal by the Black....shall be mine?

ALEC stared out towards the VALLEY where he could see the BLACK standing tall surveying his HERD of horses. He turned back to look at ABU to see him smiling gently. (The camera shoots the scene behind Alec's right shoulder.)

ABU smiled as he looked at the young man;

Yes, Alec. And the foal will be out of Johar the finest pure-blood Arabian in the world.

ALEC;

Gosh, I am very honored by the gift, Abu.

He quickly looked for the white mare JOHAR in the herd of horses as the white mare came prancing into view of the BLACK and ALEC. Alec's mind was racing as he walked to the edge of the house with ABU and TABARI behind him. They were both smiling at each other knowing that the gift of a FOAL to the rider who won the great desert race was the perfect gift to give him. Alec was thrilled as he saw how his stallion stayed near Johar. The stallion liked Johar as did the mare. Maybe the foal will be a COLT; a son of the BLACK out of JOHAR. He couldn't wait till the --- his foal was born.

ABU, looking at Alec;

Even though the Black is your horse...consider it as the prize for winning the Great Desert Race for my people with your Black...Alec. Even though....I don't do this to all my riders who win the race for me, but your love for the stallion has touched me in a way that none had before. The first born colt or filly will be weaned here and when that day comes. I shall write you a letter telling you of its sex and the color and all the necessary papers to claim him with. This colt or filly will be the first of many offsprings from Shetan. Shetan will give me many offsprings and may Allah be generous to me that they will be like him in speed and endurance.

ALEC;

I hope so, Mr. Ishak. You have my word that I will treat the colt or filly that I receive from you as I did with their sire. The foal will be much loved by me, Abu.

ABU;

I have no doubt about that, Alec. You loved him and you will love his son or daughter just like him.

TABARI;

You will have no fear, Alec. We will take good care of your Black until you return back to our lands to reclaim the stallion from us.

ALEC, tears threatening as he spoke;

I know, Tabari. I will miss him. He is a part of my life for so long. I love him with all my heart. From the first moment I saw him on the Drake...I knew he was special.

ABU, placed his hand on Alec's shoulder as he gazed at him;

He is special, Alec. He has your love. The stallion loves you with all his heart and so shall his son or daughter, Alec. I pray to Allah that it is so.
