izumi never originally intended on actually hurting her brother she loved him and i mean she loved him romantically she did not care that he was biologically related she loved her happy full of life brother but soon she became consumed by the act and wouldn't stop

she also tried to inherit the one for all quirk from her father but it rejected her badly everytime she tried to use it not only would she grow weaker but she would also go through major pain

katsumi also romantically loved izuku unfortunately she was also like her brother extremely egotistical to the point where she didn't see izuku returning her feelings how she wanted her brother suggested she took drastic measures to get him to notice him very drastic measures and she did exactly that not realizing how far she had truly gone
