CHAPTER SEVENTEEN:
Night To Remember
☆
TARA WAS STARTING TO GET QUITE EXCITED ABOUT THE YULE BALL, ALTHOUGH SHE HAD NO IDEA WHAT SHE WAS GOING TO WEAR. Ron had been sent the dreadful robes from her mother, and so, she was more than slightly concerned about what her mother would send the rest of the Weasleys, if anything.
Hermione had asked Tara and Ginny to go dress shopping with her in Hogsmeade that weekend as her parents had sent her some money, and the two girls happily agreed. Tara was elated when she heard that Viktor Krum had asked Hermione to the Yule Ball, especially since she knew that her younger brother had attempted to ask her and had failed miserably.
"Look, there's Madam Malkin's Robes. We should be able to find you something there," Tara pointed out to the two younger girls, she couldn't help but smile at the look of pure joy on both Ginny and Hermione's faces. Tara was having a wonderful time finding dresses for Hermione, it was something she hadn't had an opportunity to do before, and she truly enjoyed the time she was able to spend with Hermione and Ginny.
"Oh, Hermione, you have to look at this one!" Ginny said as she showed the girls a periwinkle -blue dress, the bodice was made from satin, and the skirt from a beautiful, floaty fabric. Hermione's smile widened as she looked at the dress.
"Try it on, Hermione," Tara said as she gently pushed the girl towards the dressing rooms. Tara and Ginny smiled at each other knowingly and couldn't help but gasp when they saw how beautiful Hermione looked in the dress.
"That's perfect!" Tara beamed at Hermione who was admiring herself in the mirror, not having seen herself in something so formal before.
"It looks so beautiful on you Hermione, tell us you'll get it!" Ginny said with a grin and Hermione nodded.
"This is the one, nothing else could even compare to it," Hermione said and Tara couldn't help but think about Ron's reaction when he saw her. Tara knew he was practically infatuated with the girl, even if he didn't know it himself. Hermione swiftly bought the dress and the girls headed to The Three Broomsticks for a warm butterbeer before heading back to the castle. Hermione and Ginny were very intrigued to learn that Tara would be going with the Bulgarian Chaser, Aleksi Ivanov, but were intrigued further by the fact that it was an attempt to make Cedric Diggory jealous.
Tara didn't understand why she was even bothering with her attempt to make Cedric jealous. From what she gathered, he had clearly stated his feelings for her, which was nothing. She had been foolish to think that he was interested in anything more than a friendship. Maybe, this was a blessing in disguise, no one could deny that Aleksi was incredibly attractive, and they had many common interests, Quidditch being one of them, and although Tara wasn't necessarily looking for a boyfriend, he certainly would not be a bad choice. So, why couldn't she get the Hufflepuff boy out of her head?
