Two glowing lamps, present in the dimly lit room. There at the front of the Hashiras, were three members of the Ubuyashiki family. {Name} was a bit uncomfortable as this is her first time in a meeting which talks about things that are very serious.
"Just as you all reported, the demons' carnage has increased more than ever." said Oyakata-sama. "Meaning that the threat to human life is greater than it's ever been. We must bolster the ranks of the demon slayers. What do you all think?"
"The incident on Mt. Natagumo made it very clear." stated Shinazugawa. "The caliber of demon slayers have dropped tremendously. Most of them are useless. The trainers must be blind. You'd think they could at least tell if someone's competent or not."
"The more the human population increases, the harder it becomes to control and unify them." said Kocho.
"Not to mention that times have changed drastically in this era." added {Name}.
"Other than those who've had their loved ones brutally massacred, and joined the Corps," said Himejima. "or those of distinguished pedigree for those who have hunted demons for generations, to ask anyone to harness as much or even greater resolve and drive to produce results would be cruel."
"Still, considering the boy today ran into one of the Lower Kizuki so soon after joining the Corps... He may even have the power to draw them in! Even when we rarely got to confront one!" called out Rengoku.
"Shinazugawa-san and I have encountered one of the Twelve Kizuki." {Name} said, raising her hand up. "Not to mention they were one of the Upper Kizuki..."
The other Hashiras could only stare at the two in shock. Oyakata-sama gazed at {Name}, then Shinazugawa, and nodded.
"You did? Which one?" asked Uzui.
"Upper Moon 4." answered Shinazugawa. "They were fucking strong."
"Because they were only emotions." added {Name}. "We weren't able to kill them because the real body was hiding. And because they ran away from us the moment it became daybreak."
There was a silence in the room for awhile. {Name} looked down, in embarrassment because she's not even used to this. She wished she never called out she and Shinazugawa went against Upper Moon 4.
"I envy you both!" Rengoku said with his bright smile still on his face.
"Agreed." said Oyakata-sama. "But the fact that Lower Moon five made such a drastic move, and that we almost had a chance to defeat Upper Moon four probably means that Muzan isn't near either of the mountains they were at.
"After all, as in the case of Asakusa, whenever Muzan wishes to hide something, he creates a clear diversion to throw us off. It's quite frustrating. But those demons are still freely devouring humans, gaining strength and surviving. For the sake of those who have died, there is only one thing for us to do. I believe that, with you who are present today, the Corps' Hashira, I've assembled the finest unit since the first Breathing swordsmen of the feudal era.
"Uzui Tengen. Rengoku Kyojuro. Kocho Shinobu. Kanroji Mitsuri. Tokito Muichiro. Himejima Gyomei. Shinazugawa Sanemi. Iguro Obanai. Tomioka Giyuu. Nakamura {Name}.
"My children, I look forward to your success."
