Blue, mixed with purple and splashes of white covered the pale parchment, the theme of the little project wasn't meant to be dark and mysterious but she didn't know what else to paint, she looked at the other girl's masterpieces, consisting of puppy's, glitter, kittens and more some good and others not so great, she couldn't help but feel self conscious of her work, knowing how different it is to the others. "Now ladies, times up." Madam Scott said, making the outcast panic and put away her paint covered brushes. "Once these dry, they will go in you folders for future potential adopters, to get an inside on what you are like and the type of person you are. So make sure your names are on the back, clean up and your dismissed." The strange brunette held back while the other girls rushed to the sink, Sarah getting there first offered to wash everyone's brushes while sweetly smiling at madam Scott turning a sickly smug to the rest of the class. The only reason she does this sort of helpful thing is to get their tutors, in this case madam Scott, to write about how 'selfless' Sarah is in her adoption report. The outcast sighed while packing up her things, handing over the paint coved brushes to Sarah, who scowled at her. "Unlike you, At least I try" the desperate blond scoffed to the outcast "maybe a little too hard" smirked the brunette while walking past the girl and out the door.
She walked into the canteen, filled with around 40 girls altogether, this orphanage only holds around 50 girls, each class consisting of around 8 - 12 depending on your age range. "Hello tiger, claw anyone today?" Lucy asked while slinging her arm over her roommates shoulder "not yet, but we'll see how the rest of the day pans out" she smiled as she lined up to get some food, "that's my girl, always optimistic" the dark haired girl laughed ruffling the brunettes hair. "That's me, Thank you susie" the young girl smiled as the dinner lady slapped some mash on her plate, todays dinner being Shepard's pie. The two girls make their way to an empty table and continue to speak and laugh when two other girls make their way over, "why are you even trying to be friends with her, you know she doesn't want to be adopted right" Sarah said, having her sidekick Jess next to her "do we have a problem?" The small brunette said standing up for herself. "Why are you even attending lessons? You just make the rest of us look bad when potential adopters walk by" Sarah claimed while getting really close to the brunettes face, "cuz I don't wanna fake being little miss perfect like the rest of you, they'll only adopt you and be disappointed at what your actually like" she stood up looking into Sarah's eyes, " excuse you, your gonna be begging me to take you with me when my family come to get me" Sarah said looking her up and down, " that's where your wrong, you're delusional if you think your family is gonna come get you after leaving you on the side of a road at 9 days old, face it, they don't want you. And thats what we all have in common" the young girl stated the truth. " how dare you, you rotten little bitc-" Sarah went to slap the girl but the opponent grabbed her hand and twisted it behind her back pushing the girl into her goon jess, making them both fall and having their food go all over them "MISS KING!" Madam Wilson said gaining the attention of the entire canteen "my office now!" She said and turned to walk towards her office, the young brunette trudged her way out of the canteen and towards the headmistresses office.
She has been waiting outside of the office for around 30 minutes now staring at the clock opposite her chair as an old man came striding down the corridor, spotting a silvery purple robe and a matching hat, along with his long white beard and hair. " is Madam Wilson in there?" he pointed to the office door next to her, the King girl only nodding her head at the man, "what are you doing out here at this time? Shouldn't you be in lesson?" He said with a knowing look and a mischievous glint in his eye, "I am but I got in trouble at lunch" the brunette nodded, telling the man. " ahhh i see, you must be Miss King" he smiled " The one and only" the girl smiled for a brief moment. Suddenly the door opened "Albus, do come in we have lots to discuss" she held the door open for the man.
She waited outside for 10 minutes until the door opened again, "Miss King, do come in" she said holding the door again "This is Albus Dumbledore, you may call him professor Dumbledore, Albus this is Miss King" he offered her his hand, which she gladly shook, " Miss King, it's nice to finally meet you, I've heard a lot of things about you" He said like the wise old man which he is. "That can't be good, please call me Dove" she gave a friendly smile as he chuckled. Madam Wilson sat on her throne "Professor Dumbledore has had his eye on your records for a while, he is the headmaster of a boarding school called Hogwarts, it's based in Scotland. Professor Dumbledore is interested in your abilities" she said, setting the tone. "Abilities? As in sports, art or music abilities" Dove questioned "yes, well studies if you would like to put it that way" Dumbledore clarified for the girl "What do you need with my abilities?" The curiosity coming out, "I would like to offer you a place in my school, you will have a dorm there and you will learn more advanced studies to help you in your future career." The white bearded man cut to the chase,"I'm an orphan I wouldn't be able to afford a private school, and the uniform and don't forget about the books, thank you so much for the offer bu-" she rambled " it is all taken care of my child, this school doesn't accept a fee, it's for students with exceptional abilities such as yours. Am I right to assume that weird things happen around you? Things you cannot seem to explain? Like when the water fountain exploded and drenched Sarah Davis when she was being rude to you, or when the mirrors shattered in the bathroom when Sarah pushed you over, the shards hitting everyone but you?" He stated some incidents that must be in her file "it seems like Sarah's the common denominator in those scenarios, that doesn't mean I'm the crazy one" dove defended, showing she shouldn't be in trouble,"of course your not crazy, you just have a gift that many would love to possess, but not everyone is cut out for my world" professor Dumbledore countered, "so.. that would make me weird, not crazy" she said in a somber way, "in my opinion, weird is good, it all depends on how you chose to see it." There was a silence after his wise words, as she pondered the thought. "I think I would like to join your school" she said thoughtfully, he handed her a letter with a red seal, it had her bedroom number on it and her full name, Dove Ophelia King. It said Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry on the front. "This is the official letter that should have arrived instead of me, though I knew you would have to take a bit of convincing, and I class you as a vital aspect to the school." "Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry? Does that mean...?" She looked up and the older man, "your a Witch, Miss King, you are a decent of a powerful wizarding family, no doubt you'll be just as strong." She stayed silent, slightly sceptical of the situation, "let's say your truthful, when would I have to be there?" She questioned with her head held high "tomorrow, you'll be attending the Hogwarts express with many other students, Madam Wilson will take you in the morning, bring all of your belongings, as you will stay there for 9 months of the year." Her new headmaster explained. "But, I don't have the uniform or anything.." dove stated, stressing over the new situation. "That is another reason I decided to come here in person, we are going to get your supplies" he said offering his arm, "she looked to Madam Wilson, she was smiling and nodding, telling Dove it's alright to trust this strange man, dove took his arm expecting to be escorted out the door, "I will warn you, it's a bit like a rollercoaster" the fancy dressed man said smiling. Then everything went like a blur, i was no longer in my former headmistresses office, but somehow in a strange pub, full of people dressed just as the old man beside her, he said a few greetings to a few people as he led her through the back door, dove internally panicking, and confused about the situation, she had been told she was a witch but that's her first experience with real magic, Dumbledore tapped the brick wall in front of her, "I understand it's a lot to take in, but welcome to diagonally" he said with a smile as her face beamed, seeing all the people wearing witch hats, and magic sprouting from every inch of the street, the first genuine smile Dumbledore had seen on her face. "First we've got to go to Gringotts bank, then if you don't mind I would like to make a stop at sugarplum's sweet shop, I'm running low on lemon sherbets" he winked at the young witch, making her laugh at his sweet tooth "of course" she smiled and made her way for a long day of shopping.
