As I lay me down to sleep I hear her speak to me.
Hello Mari. How ya doing? I think the storm ran out of rain the clouds are moving. I know you're happy, cause I can see it, so tell the voice inside your head to believe it.It was May 17th. The day I lost the greatest thing God gave to me, my wife Y/N. She died in a car crash, some drunk driver rear ended her and hit the side she was on.
I wasn't able to see her after they rushed her to the hospital. When the doctor came up to me and said there was nothing more he could do it felt like my whole world stopped. Saddest thing is I didn't get to say goodbye.
I talked to God about you he said he sent you an angel. Look at all that he gave you. You asked for one and you got two, you know I never left you because the road that leads to heavens right beside you.
The only thing I have left of her is our daughter Naomi. She's 5 Now and at first it was hard trying to be mom and dad to her since she was only 2 at the time.
She understands more now where at first she kept asking where her mom was. One day she cried for 3 hours straight because she thought her mom left because of her. It's hard some days but we make it work.
Hello my only one, just like the morning sun you'll keep on rising till the sky knows your name . And you're still my chosen one remember who you are No you're not perfect but you're not your mistakes.
Naomi reminds me of her so much. They have the same sparkle on their big brown eyes. They have the same big white grin and her attitude is almost identical: bubbly and sweet.
At night I see her looking up at the stars "talking to her". She tells her about her day, what her and her friends joked about at school, or how I tied the bow in her hair wrong.
And if you knew how proud I was you'd never shed a tear have a fear No you wouldn't do that. No I didn't pick the day to turn the page I know it's not the end everyday I see your face and I hear you say
Hello my only one just like the morning sun and you're still my chosen one remember who you are"Am I like mommy dad?" Naomi asked me which was something new.
"Of course you remind me so much of her."
"Really? How?"
"You know how you dance and do gymnastics?"
"Yeah."
"Your mom used to do the Same thing when she was around your age. Matter of fact"
I walked to the bookshelf and took out a photo album. I showed her a picture of her mom when she was around 5 or 6 in a dance outfit.
"Hey she kinda looks like me." I laughed and said
"Yeah you sure are your mom's twin."
"I can't wait till I get to see her in heaven."
"And I bet she'll be happy to see you."
Tell Naomi about me
