winter gloom

the grey has dulled the other colors in my pallete

diluted by murky water of the beauty drained before

dreary pallete with no colors nor taste

though the taste for excitement perseveres

grey sky to achromatic grass and trees

as if this cold was a hungry vampire

the sun is a risk,so he destroyed it

blood of trees and nature, the color they bring

all gone with the harsh bite of frost

though all is not lost

the artificial blood so carefully stored

stored away from the sun's bleach and the cold's bite

in my own little world I hold such brightness

comforting colors keeping track of the liveliness of life

if only just inanimate, they still inform me of life

for my own melanin has failed me these past months

taking vacation in some unknown area

the color of my environment keeps me sane

lost in the dark foggy abyss of what's real

the real is unsettling somewhat

the real used to bring so much excitement years back

now all we see is seasonal depression and gloomy days

dead from little to no interaction

to the day when this pendulum swings back

and the warm side feels hot in my hand

which so desperately craved it
