Oh my god. I'm so sorry, it's been so long. I've been busy with school shit. I made this chapter extra long to make up for it!

There is going to be some physical abuse described in this chapter. If you can't handle that, don't read this.

Since it has been so long since the last update, recap of what happened last chapter. Remus told Lily about how he and Sirius met and what happened between them. Then Remus texted Sirius and they agreed to meet.

I know I used that text thing last chapter, but I honestly don't really like how it looked so I'm not gonna use that website anymore. Sorry.

Sirius' POV:

Sirius texted Remus the moment he walked into the diner. It was an old building, and looked very much like an off brand IHOP. I'm being lazy, the picture above is the vibe I'm going for with the IHOP interior. Outside the sun had already set, and the dark surrounded the diner like a blanket. Sirius felt like he was in a movie, about to make some dangerous deal while he was on the run.

"Can I get you anything, hun?" the waitress asked, she had brown hair that sat atop her head in a messy bun. Her name tag said 'Poppy'. Sirius thought she seemed like a wonderful person.

Sirius had arrived just a minute ago and had sat himself down in a booth in the far back.

"Is it alright if I wait to order? I'm waiting on a friend." He gave her his signature smile.

"Of course, dear. Does your friend come in here often? We don't usually get many new faces in here. And yours is definitely new." She was very friendly. Sirius paused for a moment, he felt like he knew a lot about Remus, it struck him suddenly how little he actually knew. He wanted to know everything.

"I'm not sure, I haven't seen him in a long time, his name is Remus." Sirius replied, Poppy's smile faded as soon as she heard the name. She looked at Sirius, her gaze was full of suspicion.

"Why are you meeting Remus?" She asked. "I know all of that boy's friends, and I do not know you."

"We're old friends, we met when we were 14, I haven't seen him in years, we ran into each other the other day and wanted to reconnect." It felt weird explaining himself to a complete stranger, but she obviously cared for Remus. She nodded, but she still looked a little suspicious. Her eyes softened a bit when Sirius grinned at her. He was good at charming people.

"I'll give you a while." She paused as she was turning to leave. "I think you seem like a good kid, please don't prove me wrong."

Sirius texted Remus again, this time telling him about his weird encounter with Poppy.
