'I'll keep you safe,'
'No one else will,'
He said.
I nod,
Like I believe him.
I let him lie.
To me,
Like I'm dreaming.
I know,
He doubts,
That I believe him.
'Do you trust me?'
I nod,
And now,
He believes,
Because he can't,
Read me,
The way I do him.
And he knows,
I read him,
And so, he loves me,
Dearly,
Achingly.
Like a Curse,
For both of us.
