Beloved Son

The next morning Rei anxiously awaited the bloating and nausea. She didn't want to bear anymore children for her husband. She quickly got up and went down the stairs.
"Mom?"
"Touya honey. It's early. You should go back to bed" she said desperate to get him away from his father.
The footsteps of the man in question descended the staircase.
"Rei"
"Yes Enji?"
"Do you know yet?"
She shook her head. "I will in a week"
"Good"
"Know what?" Touya asked
"Whether or not I'm having a baby"
"Dad hates me. Why does he want another one?"
"Well-" she started
"So I can have a successor that isn't a failure"
"Enji you can't just call him a failure. It's not his fault. His quirk is hurting him. That's not something he can control"
"Rei"
"I won't stand by. I had to nurse his wounds Enji. You must stop hurting him"
"Rei!" He raised a hand.
"You won't..."
He turned to look at his son "What?"
"You won't. Mom's having a baby. You're not gonna hurt her."
"Touya please stop this"
"That's right I won't" he raised his hand once again. Turning to his son this time.
"Enji don't"

Touya rubbed his cheek, getting up after being knocked to the floor.
"Are you going to do this every time he upsets you?"
"Shut your mouth Rei"
She did.
"You don't disrespect me. I am your father. Understand me?" He slapped him again
Touya didn't respond
"What? Can't take it? This is why you're such a failure."
"I can take it. Mom can't. I'll take it for her."
He must have remembered that. Touya was his punching bag of choice when Rei upset him.
But Touya was happy to protect his mother.
He would be her hero
