Daddy's Plaything

Chapter 10

"Dad? Alex? What the fuck?!" Alyssa shouted with look of shock, horror, and betrayal  etched upon her face.

Sam and Alex quickly pulled away from each other, covering their bodies, but could do nothing to cover their shame.

"Oh my God Alyssa, I'm so sorry..." Alex tried to speak as she got dressed, but Alyssa had heard enough as she stormed out of her house and left.

"Alyssa! Come back!" Alex cried after her, but she got in her car and sped off.

"What have I done?" Alex sobbed as she fell to the ground, landing on her knees, tears streaming down her face.

Meanwhile, Sam looked at Lily with a look of guilt and regret.

"Lily, listen. I can explain..." He stuttered, not exactly sure how he could explain what they'd just walked into.

"Can you? I'm not exactly sure that you can," Lily said plainly.

Sam stared at Lily with confusion. She didn't seem angry or upset at all.

"Are you...are you ok?" He asked wondering why she wasn't loosing her mind like any wife who caught her husband cheating normal would.

Lily sighed and walked over to the couch, taking a seat. She ushered him to come sit down next to her. Sam slowly sat down, nervous as to what she was about to say next.

"I have a confession to make," Lily started to speak but paused. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Sam sat quietly, anxiously awaiting for her to continue.

"While you were away, I was terribly lonely. I would come home and cry most of the nights because I didn't know what to do with myself. My friend Clair would come over often and she would keep me company and not make me feel so lonely. Well, one night we drank 3 bottles of wine and the next thing I can remember, I wake up and we're both in bed...naked. I don't remember much from that night, but our one time thing, ended up being an every night thing. And if I'm being honest,I should just let you know, I'm in love with her. I didn't know what to do or how to tell you but I guess now is a good a time as any. Once you came back I tried to make the marriage work but I just couldn't hide who I was anymore. I wasn't happy and I know you weren't either. I'm so sorry Sam for not telling you. I'm sorry for cheating on you, but I guess we're even now." Lily divulged.

Sam was in complete shock. He wasn't exactly sure what to say or feel. He was a little upset to find out his wife had cheated while he was away, but considering what he had done it didn't make much of a difference anyway.

"Sam? Please say something?" She asked.

Sam shook his head, pulling himself out of his thoughts.

"I guess that explains why you've  been so distant lately," he chuckled, a little relieved that she wasn't upset about him and Alex.

"I was going to tell you soon I just wasn't exactly sure how and I didn't know what to say to Alyssa," she shrugged.

"Oh my God, Alyssa!" Sam shouted as he stood up and bolted outside to look for his daughter.

She was nowhere in sight. Alex was still sitting in the middle of the road, sobbing into her hands. Sam walked up to her and placed his hand on her shoulder. Alex flinched and looked up at him, her eyes swollen and drenched in tears.

She pushed his hand away, stood up, and ran to her house. She climbed up the stairs to her room and threw herself on the bed, crying until her eyes were dry.

'I'm so stupid and selfish! How could I do that to my best friend! You're such a filthy whore!' she thought angrily to herself.

She grabbed her phone from her pocket and called Alyssas phone. She needed to speak with her and apologize but as she predicted, she didn't answer.

She paced back and forth in her room, thinking of all the ways she could say sorry and make it up to her.

For hours, Alex called and texted Alyssa but got no response. Alex kept beating herself up over what had just happened, hating herself for betraying her best friend.

At around midnight, she still hadn't heard back from Alyssa. She peaked outside her window, hoping to see if her car was outside her house, but unfortunately it was still missing. She did however see a police car in her yard instead.

She glanced at the front door to see an officer speaking to Sam and Lily. They both were holding each other, crying. Alex raced outside to Alyssas house to see what happened.

"What's going on? Where's Alyssa?" Alex asked anxiously as the officer walked back to his car and drove off.

"We need to go the hospital, now," Sam said worriedly, as he went to grab the car keys.

"Why? What happened?" Alex panicked but they didn't answer her. They both got into the car, distraught, and sped for the hospital. Alex got in her car and followed close behind them, praying that Alyssa was ok.
