"#Crankgameplays congrats on 2 mil, E! So proud of how far you've come!" Send tweet. Turn off phone. Sigh.
It's not like he'll see it, bit it's worth a shot. I haven't seen him in years, I doubt he'd recognize me. I think to myself. But either way, I can try. I miss him...
That was the last thought that passed through my head before drifting off to sleep.

I awaken to my phone buzzing, nearly vibrating its way off of the bedside table. I glance at my phone and see a call from F/N (friend name). I sigh before snatching up the device. "F/N" I snapped "I was trying to sleep, the hell do you want?"
"Y/N!" they shouted, "get your ass out of bed!"
"Jesus, okay why?"
"Cuz we're going to the coffee shop."
"Again, why?"
"Cuz I want toooo" they whined. "Pleaaaase"
"Fine" I sighed through my nose. "Give me the address" They stated the name and location of a local coffee shop downtown. "I'll be there in 10 minutes." I said.
"Great, see you then!" they exclaimed before hanging up the phone.
I blinked, then sighed, before standing up. This is going to be a long day.
*Time skip to the coffee shop*
I walked in the door to find F/N already there, impatiently waiting for me. "Finally" they called out when they saw me. "Come on, let's get something to drink" we waited in line for a few minutes before F/N ordered themselves something and I ordered a (drink). I took my beverage and sat at a nearby empty table F/N following a few steps behind.
"So" I said, looking at F/N as they took a seat, "what is it that you want to talk about that you needed me to get here so badly?"
"oh nothing I just wanted to see you"
I glowered at them. "so you mean to tell me that I could have slept in and THEN came to see you?"
They grinned "yep."
I glared at them playfully. "I swear to God FN sometimes you make me want to strangle y-"
I paused as I heard a familiar voice say to the Barista "uhm...I'll have a black coffee, please?" I turned and saw him. Ethan. My childhood best friend that I haven't spoken to in ages. I still checked to see where he was sometimes and learned that he was now a popular gaming YouTuber. I stared at him as he waited for his coffee, scrolling through his phone.
"Helloooo, Earth to Y/N" my friend called out. I looked back at them. "what the hell was that" they said.
"oh, I just saw an old friend" I replied.
"OOOH" they cried, suddenly enthusiastic. "how cool! you should go say hi!"
"A-are you sure?" I said hesitantly.
"yeah I'll call you later, go say hello!"
I nodded "O-okay." I waited for Ethan to walk out the door with his coffee before I left. He started to walk down the street but paused when I called out "hey Ethan, wait up a sec!" he turned to me and I stopped when I I'd reached him.  "Hey, E! it's been a long time, how have you been?" I said awkwardly. I really hope this didn't seem like I was trying to talk to him again just because he was famous. that would be embarrassing.
He looked at me confused I stared right back at him, my heart starting to sink. "...you don't remember me, do you?" I panted, still breathless from chasing after him.
He started to shake his head, but suddenly his eyes widened. "oh my God, Y/N?!" he exclaimed. "Y/N L/N!"I nodded "it's been forever!" he said.
I grinned. "yeah it has."
"my God" he added, "I can't believe I didn't recognize you! you still look the same, you know, just...taller?" he said.
I laughed at his remarks. "yeah well you haven't changed much either"
"oh, shut up" he said, playfully shoving me.
"hey, E?" I said and he hummed in response. "remember that time we tried to ride a sled down a tree branch?"
He winced. "yeah that hurt"
I laughed again. "good god we were stupid kid"
He feigned offense. "speak for yourself, I was a brilliant, intelligent, beautiful child" I snickered "hey..." he said, fake pouting.
"beautiful? brilliant?" I replied.
"I was all of those things and MORE." he play yelled.
"You were an acne-covered idiot" i teased, still laughing, and at my comment Ethan started to laugh too.
"man I can't believe we ever lost touch!" he says, grinning.
"yeah me either"
he pulled his phone out of his back pocket. "here I'll give you my number, text me sometime. I really want to catch up" he gave me his phone number and I put it in my contacts as "Eefin". he laughed at the name
"hey y/n?" Ethan asked.
"yeah?"
"I missed you a lot."
I laughed. "yeah, I missed you too E."
he gave me a quick hug before going on his way waving his phone at me, a signal to text him.
I laughed and nodded before walking back into the coffee shop, looking for F/N. but they weren't there. I shrugged and walked home, going back to bed but not before texting Ethan a quick "hey". I received an answer before I could blink.
Y/N: hey

Eefin: hey y/n
Eefin: whatcha doing

Y/N: sleeping

Eefin: oh really

Y/N:yes

Eefin: hmmm
Eefin: then how are you texting me

Y/N: screw you

Eefin: well how rude

I laughed before setting my phone down and falling asleep.
