My phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out to see a text notification from my best friend.

Seán: Yooo this class is so boring

Y/N: you're in english right

Seán: yea

Y/N: haha loser
Y/N: im in math :p

Seán: stfu

I laughed, starting to type back a reply when I heard someone clearing their throat behind me. I looked up to see my teacher, looking over my shoulder at my phone.

"Y/N," she said, "Is that a cell phone? You know the rules about phones in class."

I sighed, hesitating. "Yes ma'am, I do."

"I'm going to need you to give me your phone, please. And you will need to go to after-school detention today."

I nodded quietly, handing my phone over. "Thank you." She said, taking the phone. "Now-" she was cut off by the bell ringing, and she sighed. "Class dismissed!"

I walked out of class to find my best friend Seán waiting for me. "Hey, Y/N I was meaning to ask you something. Do you wanna come over after school today? Mom's making chicken wings."

"Can't." I said, pouting. "I have detention."

"You what? Fine, I'll do it with you then, I don't wanna be by myself."

"What-"

"Hey, teach!" He called out to the math teacher. "FUCK OFF BITCH"

"what. did you. just say." The teacher inquired. "Mr. Mcloughlin you will be having detention after school today and if I ever hear such foul language from you again, I will be notifying your parents"

"Yes ma'am." Seán said, walking away.

"What the fuck was that?!" I asked him as soon as we were out of earshot of the teacher.

"That was me getting detention dumbass"

I sat in detention, bored. "This is stuuupid." I said, sticking my tongue out.

"Let's ditch then" Seán said.

I contemplated for a moment. "Kay, let's do it"

"Wait no I was joking-"

"I wasn't, now lets go, I want chicken wings."

He shrugged, following me as I walked out of the classroom.

I pulled the door open to his car. "Come on we're going...HURRY UPPP" I whined at him.

"Okay okay, we're going."

We pulled up to his house and I immediately jumped out of the car. "HI MRS. MCLOUGHLIN" i called out

"Hello Y/N" she said sweetly. "Where's Seá- Wait aren't you supposed to be in detention?!"

"We skipped" I replied, shrugging my shoulders.

"Of course you did" she said, rubbing her temples.

"Hi mom!" Seán called as he walked into the house.

"Hello hun. Want chicken?"

"Sure-" Seán said.

"I WANT CHICKEN" I said playfully.

"I know dear that's why I made it." His mother replied.

"Mom it seems like you love Y/N more than me." Seán said

"It's because I do." She said jokingly. He put his hand over his heart, feigning offense, and we laughed at him.
