Hinata loved his boyfriend, he loved him more than what was healthy if he was honest. He couldn't imagine life without Kageyama. Kageyama was his everything, and Kageyama felt the same.
The two still had their moments of innocent bickering but they never fought. Whenever they had a real disagreement they'd always talk it out- well, until high school ended.
Kageyama went to some University Hinata had never heard of while Hinata continued chasing his dreams of playing volleyball. They still talked daily, even if it meant calling or running miles in the rain, they always found a way.
"Why do you even bother? Will a real team ever want you?" Kageyama spat, turning away from his laptop's screen, "no offense but, seriously, in high school you only got in because the captain was nice. To really play you're lacking the height."
Hinata frowned, picking at the keys on his keyboard, "wh-why would you say that..?"
"Cause it's true! I'm working my ass off here trying to get an actual job and what have you been doing?!"
"Please, stop yelling..."
"Why?! If I don't yell you ignore me!" Kageyama shouted, slamming his hands on his desk, "you're useless, Hinata! You never listen!"
Hinata snapped, sobs shakily escaping, "y-you don't mean that..."
"Why wouldn't I mean that?! I want to have a life with you, y'know! We can't live if you still don't have a job though!"
"I'm trying! I-i just can't go without v-v-vollyball!" Hinata cried, hugging his knees to his chest, "a-and- I can't think o-of any j-job that can replace my love for the gam-e..." He hiccupped and sobbed.
"I'll replace you!" Kageyama yelled, making Hinata flinch, "I can find someone else, someone who actually gives a shit about how I feel instead of running after some middle school dream!"
Hinata felt his heart break at the cold words, they couldn't break up over the phone- no, they couldn't break up! Hinata couldn't live without Kageyama! "I can replace you too!"
