February 04, 2021Dear Lulu,
How are you? Are you still alright? This is my first time writing a letter for you. I just decided to do so. It's just the idea seems fun. I can able to burst out all these things that I've been pending up in my heart for a long time. I read this method in books. HAHA! I'm just aping it. Well, its comforting though. It seems someone was listening to you.
I saw you last night in you and your sister's room. But you're all alone there. Of course, she's in the kitchen. I guess she's chopping onions. Oh boy! How you hate doing that. Last time you did that, you cried. Though you're wearing face shield.
You're lying on your stomach, burrying your face in your stenchy worn out pillow. I wonder why you always do that when somethings bugging your mind. I would even hear your muffled sniffs. I wonder if you really love whiffing your stinky pillow. Eww, disgusting. You know your pillow was drenched with various liquid for your face sake! Saliva and snot and tears. Well I see, you love that pillow no matter what. That pillow witnessed all your pain.
I saw you yesterday washing all their clothes. Your sister in-law ordered you to wash their clothes and she'll just be compensating you but only those wet one. But you include those dry clothes from the hamper. It's just you heard the night before that day, she will be substituting her workmate. So you thought she will be having a work for the whole week. That means she will not be able to wash their clothes. Those wet one was not that many for Php 50.00 too. So you included it. You thought it can make them happy. But you're wrong. They misinterpreted that act. They thought you included it all so you'll be paid double.
You asked yourself. Why? Can't you please them without receiving money? After all, they're the one supporting and providing all your needs. You just wanted to repay by making them feel happy and comfortable. They've worked enough to support all of you financially. A simple act can't kill you. So you did. But they thought you're just playing hero. "Bida-bida".
You just wanted to be worthy. But they never saw that effort. How about if you will not do that effort anymore? No one will ever care about you nor make you feel worthy. So just care about yourself. Give yourself some worth. Try to be selfish.
I just saw you chatting and laughing with your neices like everything is alright in the living room having a bite on that bread from that new bakery at Tambo, Katipunan. But after that, you went to your room and lied down on your matted cushion, fell asleep and forgot about dinner.
I was about to conclude that you're just cunning your pillow, but I saw it was wet. It's not like you're that crazy fond about your pillow that you tried to lick it. So liquid who caused that wetness was not your saliva. I guess that's your tears. Did you cry? Does it hurt so much?
They always misinterpret you. It's like you don't belong anywhere. You're always an outcast. Oh boy! Maybe because you're an alien. You're different from them. You're weird and unfamiliar. Yeah, you're an alien!
I'm looking forward to writing another letter. I hope it would already be the happy one.
Love,
Luke

Letters for Lulu
RandomThis book comprises the letters I wrote for a kid named Lulu. Everyone paid no attention at her. She was so weird, sensitive, and a crybaby.
