A figure loomed, watching the young woman walking along the path. She reached her destination, unbeknownst to her that her movements were being followed. As she fumbled to get her key in the door, the figure smiled, and the woman looked up, and glanced over her shoulder. The figure was not concerned though, the woman had not gained the sight yet, and until then, the figure would remain in the shadows. As the woman went back to unlocking the door, a dog howled in the distance, and others joined in, causing her to jump slightly. The figure smirked, a small laugh leaving their lips, rippling across the silence. This young woman was at an important crossroads, and if she continued down the path she was currently on, there would be no room for jumpiness or fear.
"Soon, my child" the figure whispered, her words floating across the mist that had begun to form. The woman looked back again, directly at the figure, her eyes focusing hard, searching the dark, before resting and turning back to the door. She opened it quickly, and walked inside, giving one last glance over her shoulder before locking the door behind her.
Hecate looked down to the hound by her feet. She pat his head softly, rewarding him for his loyalty beside her. "We must return, you know Mother would like some information on the prophecy and the girl meant to fulfill the role" Hecate whispered to the hound, before letting the fog cloak her completely, taking her back to Olympus to her mother's side.
"She is not ready yet" Hecate spoke on her arrival, embracing her mother softly.
"Not yet, my dear, but I have seen it" Asteria replied, smiling at her child.
"She has what it takes to change the Underworld forever".
