Cu tugged her wet unbrushed hair into a thick ponytail that dripped water as she pushed the door to her room closed with her foot, flinging her towel onto her twin bed. Laying atop it was a perfectly set lime green and purple comforter with a pile of clothes laying all over it, clearly thrown there at an earlier time, the towel going farther back on the bed to land on and cover the pillows completely. Barely glancing at the pile of dirty and clean clothes mix she dug her hand in and brought it back out with a red t-shirt. Sniffing it thoroughly she shrugged and pulled it on over her body, which was glistening with water. Looking around she spotted her only pile of purely clean clothes sitting atop her dresser. Throwing the clothes around her room she found a pair of lacy pink panties and pulled them on quickly before grabbing the towel and racing out of her bedroom and into the long hallway that led to the living room.
Her feet, still wet from the long hot shower she had just endured, slipped on the tiles and she slid all the way to the front door, the towel left somewhere near her room. She ended up laying on her back just a few feet from the front door, her shirt riding up her belly and exposing her underwear. The door was wide open and in the doorway stood four teenage boys, two of which she was sure was her brother Rin's friends. His two friends stepped through the doorway, gave her a small smile and continued on down the hallway, leaving Rin and another boy whom she has yet to meet, standing there. Rin sighed and reached his hand out, which Cu grabbed and he then heaved, pulling her off the floor. She looked expectantly at Rin as she brushed herself off and then glanced at the stranger. Rin combed a hand through his raven colored hair and looked over at him also, then, understanding he won't introduce himself, did it for him. "So Cu, this is Rave and Rave, this is Cu." He gestured to both of us as he spoke and then continued down the hallway too, following his friends.
Once Rin was gone the hallway grew silently awkward, which was unusual for both Cu and Rave. Rave moved inside and closed the door gently, as not to make any noise and disturb anyone, like anyone really cared. He then moved around a bit then decided to explain himself, like he wasn't welcome here at all. "I'm uh, new to your brother's school and uhm..." Cu wasn't having any of that, for she had already begun walking down the hallway, towards the living room. Rave followed closely behind, not saying another word but curious about Cu. When she had turned into the living room, Rin's two friends, Thomas and Blake, were playing Call of Duty: Black Ops on the Xbox while Rin sat on the couch between them, watching Cu and Rave enter silently. Rin got up and, though as in deep thought, attempted to walk through Thomas' arms to get to Cu. Thomas then proceeded to wave his arm around and yell, "Bro! Get outta the way!" Rin quickly noticed his mistake and moved around Thomas' arms, striding towards Cu at an alarming speed. Having noticed this, she ran into the kitchen and hid behind the counter, knowing a rant is coming, and she wished to have no part in it.
On her way under the counter, she had grabbed a bag of chips and was happily eating them as Rin stormed up to her. Slowly, he bent down and sat next to her, trying to be nice about this. "Cu, you know what you've got to do this time, right?" From beside him he heard her sigh and then take a bite from a chip, then another, then another, until all he heard was the crunch of her eating chips. From all the time he's been with her he discovered that she eats like this when she was upset, to calm herself down. He glanced at her from the corner of his eye, then his hand snaked out and crushed the bag, making her yell out in protest. Rin then brought the bag to his lap and opened it up and looked inside, only seeing the crushed remains of his bloody family, whom had died when he was younger, much younger. Cu was staring into his eyes now, seeing the sadness and despair that he tries so hard to hide.
Gently, she took the bag from his sweaty hands and threw it in the trash bin, so that he couldn't see it. He stayed how he was, though, and so she leaned over and hugged him, wiping away the tears that streamed down his face like a light waterfall. Like usual, he reacted to the hug by returning it, which helped him to find peace and forget, considering that his parents rarely ever touched him. "Thank you." It was what he typically said whenever she did this, since it happened so often. Cu was always confused about it, this, the thing that happens to him only when she is near, when she is watching. It's almost as if she gives him his pain and sorrow, holds the despair and then releases it whenever he nears. He says it's just a coincidence on where it happens, but she knows better, it's like she remembers that this is how it works, how she works.
