Cordolium (n.): Heartache; heartfelt sorrow
Ophelia's POV
I can't believe I was getting on a bike. I've never been on one before and it was nerve wrecking. He handed me a spare helmet, thank god my hair was in a bun
What do I even do? Where do my arms and legs? I'm going to ruin this date...
"Relax darling. Just hold on to me", Jasper says, "Oh and here, it's gets cold"
He took off his jacket and gave it to me. I slowly got on the back of the bike, placing my hands securely around Jasper's waist. My head peered over his shoulder. My foot rested on the leg rest thingie.
"Lean with me when I turn", he instructed me. Sure, I can that. The bike literally roared, like a hundreds of vicious beasts. He revved the bike a couple of times and were off into the unknown.
Exhilarating but peaceful somehow. It felt like I was flying. We were going fast, you can sense it. I feel free...not a care in the world.
I was Jasmine when Aladdin took her the magic carpet ride. Unbelievable sights and indescribable feelings. I embraced the thrill of it all.
"This is amazing!", I shouted, "Whoo!".
"Hold on!", I barely heard Jasper shout. About roughly 5 minutes later we stopped. I took my helmet off and Jasper offered me his hand to get off the bike.
We were surrounded by greenery. The forest? I looked at Jasper puzzled. "What are we doing here?", I asked. He didn't say anything but give me that signature smirk. Bloody hell...
"Do you trust me?"
Trust was something I struggled with for a long time. I always had my guard up, afraid of being hurt and betrayed. My eyes bore into his outstretched arm. Do I trust Jasper Hale?
"I do"
He flashed a row of white teeth. Through the beige henly shirt you could see a perfectly toned chest. Glass like skin, smooth as ever. He almost looked unreal, too good to be true
A thin trail led into the forest. Panic was clear on my face and I moved closer to Jasper. I was not risking getting lost here.
"I won't let you get lost", he turned with a mocking smile. How did he know?
"Do you want to go home?", he said quietly, worried.
"No, no", I anxiously moved even more closer to him. I wanted to be with him and not waste any second of it.
"What's wrong", he asked, his voice gentle.
"Nothing, it's just that I'm really nervous. I haven't been on a date in a long time", I answer truthfully, "And we're in a forest"
"Don't worry. You'll be safe", Jasper promised, to my first answer or second one...or both?
"Lead the way soldier", I say excitedly.
It wasn't as hard as I had feared. The way was mostly flat, and he held the damp ferns and webs of moss aside for me.
The path took us over a bunch of fallen trees and boulders. Jasper helped me, lifting me by my waist and holding my hand
His touch on my skin never failed to make my heart thud erratically. I caught a look on his face that made me sure he could somehow hear it.
We walked in silence. It wasn't uneasy silence. Just me and him being here together was more than fine with me. As we got deeper into the forest, it got darker. I wasn't a big fan of the darkness and would occasionally whimper when I thought I saw some creature-that wasn't even there.
