Chapter 19: Strange things happened

Jacob was on his way to see Bella, upon hearing that she was sick. Ophelia was nervous to tell the wolf pack about her mate-Jasper, as well as finding out that Bella was pregnant. Worried about how they would react.

"Qu'est-ce qui ne va pas", Émile asked the pacing ballerina. "I'm worried how they will react-the pack", she looked at him desperately. Émile placed a hand on her shoulder, "Don't worry Li, they won't be upset. They love you"

Ophelia smiled softly at the French vampire. "I guess"

Bella hadn't moved from the couch. Ophelia was worried about her younger sister and would often feed her, bath her, she was her sisters caretaker as well as Rosalie. Rosalie and Ophelia shared a common mindset, in terms of the baby that Bella carried.

Both the girls longed for a child, they couldn't bear. Yes, Ophelia was infertile. She was saddened about the fact that she would never be able to carry a child. Sure, she can adopt but it's the feeling of having a little human inside you. Creating another life.

Ophelia had sworn to protect her sister and the baby at all costs. Her health was getting worse by the hour. More thin and bony, not like Bella but similar. The medication that Carlisle prescribed had mild effects. It was just to keep the pain away and add some extra nutrients in her body. The blood results came back and nothing was found odd.

Jasper and Ophelia were doing great. She wasn't quite sure if they were labeled as dating but it was somewhere there. Hearing the bike outside the Cullen Residence, Ophelia rose to her feet and so did Rose. They both nodded at each other and stood in front of Bella. Jacob was unaware of the pregnancy. And knowing Jacob, he would be furious.

Jacob stared at the family of vampires and Ophelia. He approached them slowly, Rose glaring at him. "I'm glad you came", Bella says from behind the girls. Jacob walks closer but was stopped by Rosalie, "Close enough"

"What's your problem?", Jacob asks her, annoyed. "Rose, it's okay". Ophelia reaches out to Rose's hand and gently pulls her to the side along with herself.

"Don't worry", she reassured her. Rosalie could not keep her eyes of Bella. Ophelia was visibly shaking from nervousness.

Jasper was quick to hold her. He rubbed tiny circles on her back, comforting her. Her emotions were off the roof when Jacob sat down next to her. He hadn't sensed it yet. "Calm down darling", Jasper whispers. She could only nod at him.

"So are you going to tell me what's wrong with you?", Jacob asks Bella. "Li, Rose, do you wanna help me up?". They were instantly by her side and lifted her up carefully. Ophelia pulled down Bella's shirt that rode up.

Jacob was startled by Bella's huge belly. He took him a minute to fully interpret what had happened. Seeing the look on Jacob's face made Ophelia's hand shoot out in front of her sister protectively.

It wasn't that she didn't trust him, she didn't trust his rage. What if he had a sudden outburst and accidentally hurt Bella, Ophelia was prepared to take action. He angrily charged towards Edward, "You did this". Jacob was held back by Emmet.

"I didn't know it was even possible", Carlisle says

"What is it?"

"I'm not sure. Ultrasounds and needles won't penetrate the embryonic sack"

Alice spoke up, "I can't see it either and I can't see Bella's future anymore".Ophelia felt like she just got hit by a bus. If Alice couldn't see Bella's future that means she didn't have one. She would die. Ophelia took a sharp breathe in. "We've been researching legends, but there isn't much to go on. What we do know is that it's strong and fast growing". The Cullens and Ophelia did lots of research, figuring out if this situation ever happened before.
