first day of college

As I sit at my desk unconformably as it was my first day of college my adoptive parents had sent me to greenwood college it was one of the most expensive schools in America my parents believed if I went to an expensive school I would get a better education.

My new teacher Mrs Kelson was rambling on about the history of art deco I stared out of the window watching birds fly and some other kids doing orienteering as I tried to make pictures out of the white fluffy clouds that floated away freely rolling across the sky with my head leaning against the window .

The girl behind me tapped my shoulder

" hey " she whispered

I turned around pulled my hoodie back a and stared at her

" what!? " I whispered back

" hi I'm Kayla do u want to hang out at break " she asked

" Sure " I said quietly and turned back around and looked back out the window

"Alex " said Mrs kelson " are u listening "

Everyone turned to look at me I pulled my hood back up and shielded my face with my long brown hair to hide my embarrassment .

The bell rung I shoved my books into my bag and ran out of class and bumped in to a boy with black hair and sea foam green eyes with soft freckles dotting his cheecks and the bridge of his nose he was about 6'4

" sorry " I said quickly

I bent over and gathered up his books and gave them to him and kept walking

" wait " a loud male voice said in a soft calm tone .

I saw the boy stride up to me in wide even strides

" uh...thanks...I'm Cade you must be the new kid...Alex isn't it " he asked.

I smiled " yes I am "

" would u like me to show you round " he scratched the back of his head

"Sure why not" I said blushing slightly
