First year

"Hey, wake up," he whispered to his sister. "It's early Harry, come on," she said sleepily. The brother laughed and pushed his hair away from his face with all the delicacy that a 10-year-old boy could have. "Aunt Petunia has come to wake us up now," he explained sitting on the mattress. She turned around not to listen to him but immediately a loud sound and a scream made her jump from the bed.
"Wake up cousins, let's go to the zoo" "Now I'll kill him," he said, getting out of bed and suddenly opening the door of the closet where they slept. Dudley slammed into the now open door and fell to the ground and then looked up at what he thought was Harry, only to realize she was Esmeralda. "The next time you jump on the stairs and wake me up with some powder paint falling on me, I break this door at night and come and put a snake in your bed, you understand me?"
She said with an evil smile and hatred in her eyes. He nodded and then got up and went to the kitchen. "They'll send us away if you keep terrifying him," Harry said as he got up from the mattress and out of the closet. "It would only be good if they did." They opened the kitchen door where Uncle Vernon ordered Harry to serve breakfast. "36? But last year, last year it was 37!" Dudley yelled unhappily at the amount of his presents.
"I have a present for you. So there will be 37," Esmeralda said in a whisper. Everyone was staring at her in disbelief, Harry serving breakfast to his uncle was burned putting his hand on the pan while staring at his twin. "Ah ... well, let's all sit down so your cousin gives you the present," said Uncle Vernon, still looking at the girl. Everyone sat down and waited for Esmeralda to say something. "Here," she said, handing herself some of the eggs to put them to her brother.
The boy who had served his food last was left without eggs, as always. "So this gift?" Dudley asked, staring at the girl. She continued chewing as she looked at him, which made her cousin awe. He reached across the table and with fork in hand took the sausage from Dudley's plate. "What are you doing?" The boy asked with his mouth open. She put half of the sausage on her twin's plate and then started eating her share.
"My gift. I make sure that you do not rise more" she said smiling sarcastically at her cousin. Harry nudged her under the table and put the half sausage his sister had given him on Dudley's plate, but she took it back against it. "Eat Harry," she said as she slipped the sausage into Harry's mouth. "You ... little impertinent who are nothing else, how dare you?" Uncle Vernon yelled with a red face.
Esmeralda did the same thing, challenging her uncle with her eyes. Aunt Petunia, who had been terribly afraid of what she might do ever since Esmeralda had begun to forge her own character, changed the subject. "Are we ready to go to the zoo?" She said and then stood up. The twins, after taking off their pajamas and getting dressed, left the house and headed for the car. "Look, I'm warning you guys. No weird things. Nothing at all. Or you won't eat for a week. Go up."
And so the twins did it. The journey was silent, or at least, the twins did not open their mouths all the way. Once there, Esmeralda started to head out to where the tigers were, but her uncle took her by the wrist. "Don't you dare walk away. Stay with us. I don't want to look bad because of you, move," he said and then pushed the girl into the reptile room where Harry and Dudley had already started.
"Vernon don't keep her like that, she might do something," Petunia whispered to her husband. "Yeah Vernon, don't take me like that, I could set a snake at you," the girl said sarcastically as she walked over to her cousin and brother. "She's asleep," Harry told Dudley, who snorted away. Harry started talking to the snake and it stood up, he seemed to understand. "He's intelligent, he understands me," he said turning to his sister.
"That's true," she said smiling. Dudley arrived pushing Harry when he noticed that the snake had awakened. Esmeralda, seeing her brother on the ground, looked at her cousin and hoped he would fall into the snake's tank. And so it was. At the same moment the glass disappeared, Harry and Esmeralda looked into each other's eyes. That was probably one of the weird things Uncle Vernon didn't want to happen.
