Song walked through the house feeling like the first sight of Henry would probably make him kill him on sight. As much as he remembered from what was said the previous night, it had been Henry's idea to drug him. If he had noticed him being too tired and feeling the need to let him rest, couldn't he have just talked to him? To let him know that he still cared? What was it with this keeping-away strategy?
Something had to be going on with him... It always was like this with Henry and Song having been too long deprived of the truth. He knew him too well. Henry never did anything without a reason and he was a master at playing many storylines without anyone noticing... No Lucas had obviously noticed something and seemed in on Henry's plans. Damn, what was that important that they had to deceive him so?
And when you think of the devil he appears, at least one of the two. Lucas was walking in from the front door, smiling as if he had no worries in the world. How could he be so smug and easygoing after tricking Song so easily?
"You jackass!" Before Song could really get ready to punch Lucas he even dared to smirk at him and then laugh loudly.
"Come on! Don't blame me, I just did what your hubby made me!" Song hesitated to hear this endearing reference towards Henry. Was Lucas insane, what if Henry heard it?
"You must really have a death wish."
"Don't worry, he isn't on the premises. Probably went into hiding after last night."
"Where is he?" Song didn't let Lucas's banter bother him, at least not too much.
"How should I know? I didn't ask and he didn't say." Actually, Lucas had asked, but Henry had only said he needs to get something when he left early in the morning. "Truth be told, when someone gets up in an ungodly hour and leaves the house, they probably have something important to do or they are running away... from someone's wrath. I will bet on the latter." He seemed mighty pleased with his wittiness.
"Truly, are you feeling any better?"
Song hesitated before answering. Saying he was better would give Henry some reassurance that he did right on the previous night, but as he wasn't there he could admit it to Lucas and he nodded slightly.
"Thought so, you seem to have a bit better complexion. We started to think that you looked more like a ghost than a healthy male."
"Don't you think you are too chummy with him? I thought I was your friend not him... In our previous life you never truly trusted him, well at least not at first. And you hated him for what he made me go through."
"I did? Well, in this life it must be the other way around then. How could I hate the guy, after what you made him go through in the past year? He must be a saint for keeping you by his side." It made his words more potent and honest as it was obvious Lucas had no more humour in his tone.
Song felt remorseful. It was pure truth. He had been giving Henry so much crap, pushing him away and not accepting him at all. Hadn't he tried to find dishonesty in every word Henry said to him? Especially about their previous life. If he would have accepted his words before, he might have avoided some or a lot of the pain he made Henry feel. Now he just had to make sure he would stop all this. Song knew he had already moved towards Henry, getting closer to him, but now it was time to truly time to show him how he truly felt.
"Is there anything to eat?"
"I'm sure he prepared you something, you know he always does."
As Song looked through the kitchen he couldn't find anything ready and it made him worry. Something that made Henry wake up in the early hours and leave home... even forgetting to make him breakfast. It wasn't like Henry was obligated to cook for Song, but until now he had done it, every morning in this past year.
