The chapter title is a rough translation meaning; "To love is To Lose."

Ariel beginning the hunt to track her aunt, puts all her knowledge on the hunt to the test. She has to know how her aunt survived when Peter slashed her throat out. Tracking her twenty miles to the east she gets off her bike. Looking around with a sigh she gets what she needs. Turning around she jumps seeing Scott. "Jesus Scott what are you doing here ?" She asks getting her quiver strapped on her back before grabbing her bow. Getting a strap she places it on her thigh, getting her guns placing them there. "What do you think you're going to accomplish here ?" he asks while Ariel ignores him. Checking that her knives are where they're supposed to be she grabs her bow again before thrusting her arm down, extending the bow. "To finish what she should've done to herself a long time ago." I say finally making eye contact with him. "I suggest you leave Scott." Ariel says before heading into the woods. "I'm not leaving you here all by yourself Ariel." Scott says grabbing her arm. "Leave me alone before I stab you with wolvesbane." She says before hearing a screaming noise, looking up to the night sky, seeing the full moon rising. "You can threaten me all you want but I'm not going to leave you alone." Scott says while Ariel looks back before grabbing a dagger stabbing him in the thigh with wolvesbane that will make him pass out. "The one thing you shouldn't forget about me Scott, is I don't make light threats." She replies watching him pass out on the ground.

"What do I owe the honor of your visit, dear niece ?" Kate asks while Ariel sits back eating an apple, seeing the berserkers out of the corner of her eye. "I see you need to learn control Kate, too bad I have to kill you before that." I reply before I push a button setting off the devices that messes with her senses. Screaming, Kate grabs her ears while Ariel sends off arrows piercing her body. This in turn makes Kate Angry. Getting out her gun laced with deadly wolvesbane she begins shooting Kate. "The next one I send is between your eyes, what did you do to me ?" Kate laughs before looking at the berserkers. "Kill her." she mutters feeling the burning from the wolvesbane. Ariel unloads the magazine putting another in before shooting at the berserkers. Turning she grabs her AR before shooting the berserkers. Screaming she gets knocked off the tree by a berserker and she turns backing away from it before shooting it in the head. "Ariel you have to concentrate." Allison says while Arial nods getting back up. "If you kill me, you die to we are connected." Kate says and Ariel stops. "What ?" "Yes, Ariel, what I did to you was bite you, hopefully to turn you into me but it didn't go that way." Kate says before Ariel speaks. "The bite takes the reflection of who you are but what am I ?" She asks herself before she feels pain in her body. Looking down she sees holes starting to manifest where she shot Kate. Looking up Kate smirks all healed. "Well I don't know what you are, thank you on healing me but sadly for you, you're disposable." Kate says before the moon gets at its highest peak. Kate begins to lose control. Ariel's body begins to burn from the wolvesbane, body as if it was set ablaze by the deepest parts of hell itself. Screaming Ariel's back arches and tears burn her eyes.

Scott wakes slowly looking around before sitting up with a groan. Looking around again, he sees it's dark and Ariel is no where to be found. Standing up, he stretches his sore muscles before smelling for her scent. Screams echo throughout the trees, Scott recognizing it as Ariel's screams. Heading into the woods, he smells the air hopefully to locate her scent. Finding it he heads there, stopping, he takes in a breath before it hitches seeing Ariel in pain. Sliding to her he picks her up while her eyes are blank. Her eyes begin to glow a purple softly, her skin taking on the purple glow as well. "It hurts Scott." she whispers while Scott tries to take her pain but can't. "Why can't I take your pain ?" he asks quickly before Ariel lifts her hand pointing over to Kate, who is struggling with the change. Laying her back down, Scott stands with a glare, eyes turning red before he charges at Kate, fully shifting. "What did you do to her Kate ?!" he shouts slashing at her face but missing. "What needed to be done." with that she kicks him back before she makes an escape running further into the woods. Yelling turns into a growl, then a howl before Scott stops. Turning back to Ariel he quickly runs back to her. "C'mon we have to get you to Deaton." Scott says picking Ariel up quickly. Ariel in and out of consciousness, forces herself to stay awake. The vines begin to extend across her body, encasing her before she finally lets her body give in to the darkness.

"What do you mean ?" Ariel hears Lydia saying while she begins to wake up to the smells of the animal clinic. Eyes opening wide, she looks around seeing the pack around her. Sitting up with a groan she looks down at her body seeing it's healed up. "What, what happened ?" she asks looking up to the pack who all stare at her. "You died Ariel." Lydia finally says while Ariel gives them a confused look. "But only for two minutes, the vines around your body healed you." Deaton says while she nods going to stand up but Scott stops her. "Although from studying you I figured out what you are, but this is the first I have heard of it taking human form." Deaton says while I look at him. "What am I ?" I ask while Deaton hands me a book on Roman Mythology. Looking down I begin to read before looking back up. "Caladrius ?" I whisper looking at Deaton while he smiles. "Next to Scott you are the rarest supernatural, the only one of your kind, when Kate took you to the Nemeton, it awoke this part of you. You have the ability to heal the sick and injured, bringing it into yourself, taking their pain and sickness before healing yourself." Deaton says. "Although I do not understand the reason your Aunt took this risk to do this to you." Deaton replies before Ariel closes the book before looking at Lydia. "I'm ready to leave now." Nodding Lydia stands but Scott begins to protest. Looking at him he goes quiet before looking down. Grabbing my things I look down before following Lydia out of the clinic.
