"That's different y'all are supposed to be like this, it... it keeps balance. It helps society. I'm not meant for this! I'm supposed to be in a gorgeous house, with a gorgeous room, wearing gorgeous dresses. Your kind is supposed to work for me! I'm not supposed to work 'with' you, its not right. Its not fair!"
"Life isn't fair girl. the sooner you learn that, the easier this will be for you." I just stared up at him, before my legs gave out on me and I crumbled to the floor on my knees. My hands found my head and I held it, before I began pulling on it. I thought that if just maybe I could pull hard enough I would wake up and it would all have been a terrible nightmare. I would wake up in my warm comfortable bed. I would hear my father downstairs going on about how our neighbor Mrs. Grenchkys was beginning to look more and more like his old dog Chutney, and I would hear my mother let out a joyful laugh before scolding him for his meanness.
So I continued to pull and pull, I could feel tiny clumps of hair starting to rip out of my head. But I knew no matter how hard I pulled, I would never wake up. I would never awake in my warm bed again. I would never hear my father's stories or my mother's laughter. This was it now.
This was my life.

I felt a hand come in contact with my shoulder, it had a comforting feel to it and it gave me the will power to open my eyes. Some time during fit a woman had left her doorway and now was knelled in front of me, and was staring at me with caring eyes.
"I know its not easy." It came out soft and sighed before continuing, "But this is just life now, and you've got to do what it takes to survive." I let out a hiccuped sob and looked at her with pleading eyes.
"You've got to help me, I can't survive this way."
"I can't help you. If I had that ability then I would have already saved them." she pointed over to a young boy and even younger girl. "Gabi is only five, and Billy he's just turned nine." They both wore the same tired looking expression, although the girl held a bit of curiosity which I could only guess was aimed at me.
A loud ringing broke me from my gaze and I looked around curiously trying to find the source of the strange noise. All around me the people who had previously resided amongst the hall, now began to move about frantically. Their movements looked crazed and sporadic. Yet still they held this order to them, as if that strange bell had managed to weave its wave into their brains filling them with precis directions.
