The competition

~Lizzie~

As we were in math class, the principal made an announcement, "In three days there will be a big test," I heard my class sigh, "The top 5 people, get to go on an exchange trip to an American school in New York! You will be tested on all the subjects so get studying!" Me and Oli hugged we were so excited! The rest of the class were screaming with excitement! Joel was in a different class so we didn't know how he reacted.

~Oli~

I knew me and Lizzie were the smartest in the school so I knew we would get to go on the trip! Joel on the other hand might not get to go. I had a sudden realisation! This could be my chance to tell Lizzie my feelings for her! without Joel there would be nobody to stop me.

~at lunch~

~Lizzie~

Hey Joel, me and Oli were really excited about this trip thing! What do you think of it? "I guess it's ok but I don't think I'll pass the test I'm not as intellectual as you two." Joel replied. I looked down at my plate and realised that I forgot to get my unicorn cookie! I told Joel and Oli that I was going to get one, they just said, "ok." So I skipped off!

~Joel~ 

I loved Lizzie so much, I couldn't wait for the test because I knew that Lizzie would pass and I knew how happy that would make her. I could just picture her jumping round for joy! I turned to Oli and said, "Hey Oli, do you think I should even bother studying for the test." He quickly replied with, "No you shouldn't Joel!" I was startled I told him that maybe I'd ask Lizzie about it instead and turned around so I couldn't see him.

~Oli~ 

Great! Now I've gone and made Joel mad, he's a crazy boi when he's a mad boi! And now he's going to tell Lizzie how weird or even rude I was! And she, being his girlfriend, will comfort him and tell him he should study because she obviously wants him to come on this very random trip that our school has planned! If Joel comes what will I even get out of this trip! Ugh! Maybe I should pull Lizzie aside now and say I want it as a besties trip or something! Yes great idea Oli my man! When Lizzie came back and sat down a asked her if I could speak to her for a minuet or two? She agreed and followed me to a corner. "Lizzie I don't think we should encourage Joel to study for this because I want it to be a bestie trip away!!" She shook her head and told me "I'm sorry but no just because I'm dating him doesn't mean he shouldn't be part of our friendship! I'm going to go back over there now please don't discourage him!" We walked back over and just smiled at Joel!
