Second Chances

Chapter Two

A month in and they found their own kind of normal in Bucharest, most people that saw them thought they were a couple and they never corrected anyone. It was the perfect cover. Let other people make up your story and you just go along for the ride. It was far easier than having to stick to a script. Pretending to be a couple came quite naturally to the pair and so no-one thought to ask otherwise about them. Emily had slowly been helping Bucky with his memories. He could now remember quite a bit of his life before Hydra, he remembered Steve, or rather moments of him being there. Both she and Bucky had managed to get jobs. He worked collecting tickets on the trains and trams in the small district they lived in and she worked at the local charity centre. The jobs didn't pay much but it was enough to live on and to be able to enjoy a few treats now and then like more books for herself. Most of which had turned out to be cookery books as she had found out that cooking calmed her when she'd been having a bad day and Bucky was a hopeless cook.

Emily was pondering over just how different their lives were now and how much she had come to trust Bucky over the last month, whilst she was cooking when the man himself walked in. She smiled over at him as he pulled off his coat and toeing his boots under the small table by the door.

Bucky watched as she turned back towards the oven. They had been here a month now and in that time she had managed to bring him to life. He felt lighter and even happy. She was his everything. He walked over to her and without letting himself think too much he reached around her and turned the stove off and then took the spoon from her hand.

"Bucky what are you doing?" She asked with a bemused smile.

"If you're uncomfortable tell me to stop." He kept his tone light but he needed her to know he was serious. He put his hands on her waist, pulling her towards him. Emily could feel his breath ghosting over her lips, she let her hands rest on his arms as he moved closer to her. When his lips brushed softly, almost timidly over hers. She slowly ran her hands up over his shoulders and slipped her arms around his neck. Letting her hands run up into his hair. Emily had never been kissed like this. She had only known lies and this was pure with nothing hidden in it. She kissed him a little harder and felt him moan against her lips.

Bucky sighed inwardly thanking god that she hadn't slapped him senseless for this. He ran his hands down her sides to just under her backside before scooping her up and sitting her on the breakfast bar. Emily wrapped her legs round him as he lifted her. She found herself groaning in pleasure at the feel of his firm body against hers. Bucky pulled away from her and began to slowly kiss her neck and nibble on her ear. She was lost in his ministrations finding them too much, but not enough all at once. As she felt Bucky's hands wonder once again, this time towards the hem of her shirt she stiffened up. It was only for a second but he had clearly noticed it,

Bucky backed off again this time he stayed just within her reach but kept his hands on the counter at the side of her. "Would like me to stop?"

"No. It's just, there is something I should tell you."

"You don't want this?"

"I do. It's just I've....never...."

Bucky looked at her then, she may be 26 years old, but she had lived at Hydra her whole life, she had never known a normal life. He knew she had kissed guys when she had been undercover, but it had never gone further than that by the sounds of it.

"You sure you want to...."

"Yer, I do. I mean it's just gonna be us for..."

Bucky kissed her again, he had noticed she had a tendency to ramble when she didn't know what to say. He stepped closer pulling her by her thighs so that she would once again wrap her legs around his hips. "We'll go slow." He whispered as he lifted her up again this time he held her looking into her eyes. He waited for her kiss before continuing their journey to his room.
