Cherry Tree Lane of Wrentham, Oxfordshire had nothing stronger than a gentle breeze blowing the day that Mary Popplewell arrived in that tiny village. As she sat on the steps leading up the property of 17 Cherry Tree Lane Mary contemplated the utter irony of the situation she had found herself in. For whilst we know little of where Mary Poppins came from or in fact where she left when she was finished with the Banks family, our Mary knew where she had come from and she knew she had finally reached her destination.
