Hotch took his seat on the couch beside you after handing you the fresh coffee he just made. Taking your legs and swinging them up so they were resting across his lap. You were comfortable, it wasn't weird. You both sat in comfortable silence watching Grey's Anatomy on the tv while you drank your coffee. It felt all to normal, like this was just your usual hangout time with each other and you've been doing it for years.

You've only ever been to Hotch's a handfull of times, and even then everyone else on the team was there too because you all would have crashed at his place or yours after a night out since both your houses are the closest to the city, but for some reason, being here tonight was so comforting and you just felt safe.

Not even 10 minutes had passed by and you could feel Hotch's eyes on you, so you turned your attention away from reciting the scenes of Grey's to look him in the eyes. God what beautiful eyes that man has, you could get lost in them. Although you would love to just stare at him all night, you could sense the gears turning in his head, which prompted you to ask him what he was thinking about.

"What's going on in that head of yours Hotchner?" You said with a light laugh to ease him into telling you what he was thinking. Hotch wasn't an sharer, so you knew you would have to tread lightly with this.

"We never got to finish our conversation from before you went undercover," he says with a sigh as he turns his whole body toward s you, giving you his full attention.  "You had me really worried Y/N, like deadass."

You smiled at his use of your terminology,  how you literally had to sit and explain to him what deadass meant on the way back to his house.
"Deadass?" You asked with a smirk, already knowing you were recreating his response from earlier.

You could see the smile tugging at his lips as he leant in closer to you - man what a wonderful smile he had, it really did light up a room- he gently pressed his lips to yours as your eyes fluttered shut from the contact. This kiss was different from the one before, this kiss wasn't fast and hungry, it was more slow and passionate, and it sent butterflies erupting in your stomach. However, as quickly as the kiss started, it ended with Hotch leaning his forehead against yours and staring into your eyes.

"I like you Y/N, I like you alot. You can be a pain in my ass at times, but that seems to just draw me in even more. I'm not one to express how I feel, so this is kinda weird for me, but I do like you. So this is me, asking you on a date - even though we've skipped the whole end of date kiss thing - but I genuinely do wanna take you out when you feel up to it."

You couldn't help the grin that started to make its way onto your features, so sealed the deal with a quick peck on his lips before uttering, "I'd love to."

The two of you continued to stare at each other grinning like cheshire cats before Hotch moved so that you could lay your head on his shoulder. It was getting late and you could feel sleep pulling at you, so before you passed out completely you told him to go to bed and that you could make your way to his guest room. He tried to argue but you stood your ground and eventually he caved, kissing your forehead before trudging up the stairs to his room. As you began to stand, the pain in your abdomen became unbearable so you lay back down flat on the couch and prayed the pain away, eventually giving up on the idea of going upstairs and just fell asleep on his sofa in the living room, the faint sounds of Grey's lulling you to sleep.
