Calliope Torres was born in Phoenix, Arizona and had just finished up her residency program at their most prestigious orthopedic hospital. She was frequently asked why she didn't permenantly work there. The thing was though, that she wanted a change of scenery. She was tired of the dry, dusty lands of Arizona. So she applied for a job in the heart of the wettest state in the country Seattle, Washington. The hospital that she would be working for, hopefully the rest of her working life, would be at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital. Coming to a new city let alone a new state was hard for anyone. But Callie had to start a new job, and she didn't know anyone so that made things a little bit harder.
"Here is your locker, and if you go straight down this hallway and make a left, the cafeteria will be on your right" said Chief Webber, Callie's new boss.
" Thank you sir" said Callie
" I'm just going to let you get settled in and find your way around, hopefully you can meet some new friends before your first surgery at 2:00" exclaimed Chief Webber
" I hope I can make some new friends also, but I am sure glad to have my first Orthopedic surgery today! It has been a while since I have fixed some bones, hopefully they are really gruesome." said Callie, boy she could not wait to get her hands inside a patient.
Cheif Webber had some paperwork to attend to, so Callie was stuck trying to figure out her way around the new hospital. Which might as well be the size of a football stadium, Callie thought to herself. She wondered about the halls, absentmindedly humming to her favorite song. When she finally realized that she was on a completely different floor than the one Chief Webber had left her on she did not know how to get back. Callie looked around and realized that she was on the Pediatric floor of the hospital. She went up to a woman in navy blue scrubs becuase she knew that, that certain color meant the woman was also an attending
"Excuse me, but I'm new here and I can't seem to find my way to the orthopedic floor." said Callie, in a soft voice.
When the woman turned around Callie could feel her stomach do summersaults inside of her abdomen. Her breath caught in her throat. The woman that turned around had the be the most gorgeous woman Callie had ever laid eyes on. She had blonde hair, but not the bleach blonde kind. It was more of a light gold blonde. She had an amazing smile, one that lit up the whole room. And her eyes, oh her eyes. Were a blue like no other. Before the woman could say a word Callie knew that this was the woman she was going to spend the rest of her life with.
