Riding home in the front passenger seat of his older brother's car was Davian's favorite part of every school day. As he leaned his head out the window, enjoying the feel of the wind, he wondered if he would ever grow tired of it.

Next to him in the driver's seat, Kairos chuckled at his little brother's behavior before glancing back out the windshield. "You know, you look a lot like Dice when you do that." He said with a smile. Davian pretended to be insulted. "Pretty sure I don't look anything like a German Shepherd." He replied.

He would have said more if not for the crash. As it was, he barely had time to look up and see the car ahead of them swerve before they actually hit it. Kairos was thrown against the wheel by the impact, the back of his brother's head hitting the edge of the window at the same time.

Everything went black, for both of them.

Davian regained consciousness lying in a strange bed in a hospital room. His head hurt and his fingers felt somewhat numb, though he had no idea why. For that matter, why he was in a hospital at all was a mystery.

What happened to me?

As he wondered this to himself, he heard the sound of a door opening over on the right. A few seconds later, a man in medical clothes appeared, followed by Davian's brother. Kairos had his head bandaged and he looked exhausted, but he smiled when he saw his little brother. Davian gave his own weak smile in return, but that was it.

The doctor person walked over to the head of the bed and began messing with something, though Davian couldn't see what. Not that he really cared. A few minutes ago, he might have, but now he was more concerned with the sudden feeling of inexplicable dread that had fallen over him.

A split second later, the seizure started for real.
