Several more months had passed. It seemed that almost a year had gone by since the two had first met. Having no place to go, Reki had officially claimed Runa's couch as her place of residence. After witch hunts, she'd come "home" to relax, eat snacks, and zone out while watching TV. This particular evening seemed no different, but only for a little while.

The girls were sitting on Runa's cheap old couch, blankly staring at the screen. Runa sat normally, holding the remote in her hand. It didn't matter what the TV was playing, they were both in need of rest. The channel for that night ended up being the news. It was so boring that Reki only got through one leftover bag of chips before practically passing out.

Suddenly, the sound of the TV remote hitting the floor startled Reki out of her sleep. After realising it was just the remote and not a threat of some sort, she relaxed... but only for a moment. Normally, Runa was as still as a stone, but she was shaking almost fearfully and staring at a face on the TV. Reki instantly followed Runa's gaze to the screen.

There was a lady's voice speaking as it showed the face of a man on the screen.

"This is a warning from the police. A dangerous child molester by the name of Howard Jones has escaped the Northern Rosverine Prison and is on the loose... Police say..."

Reki continued to listen to the report as she turned back at Runa, who was still staring at the screen in shock. Runa's face was paler than it normally was, and the shaking grew worse.

Reki was concerned. She had never seen Runa show much emotion at all, let alone a full on panic attack. "Runa?" She moved to put her hand on top of Runa's in an attempt to help.

Runa did nothing, as if Reki wasn't even there.

Reki was unsettled. 'Not even a flinch?!' She knew something was wrong. Something was very wrong and she had to do something quick. Reki began to panic. She gripped Runa's shoulders and violently shook her. "Runa?!" She shouted.

Runa blinked, and stared at Reki, as if she was surprised Reki was there in the first place. A few moments passed before Runa's scared gaze became blank like normal, and she stared at Reki as if nothing had happened. It was as if Runa was back to her old self, but something was off.

The few tears that had formed in Reki's eyes had made their way down her now blank and confused face. Eyes still wide with concern, Reki waited for a response, not losing her grip on Runa's shoulders.

"I apologize," Runa spoke, her voice still shaky, although otherwise blank as always. "I will be okay." Though somehow this didn't convince Reki.

"You're lying." Reki's voice was stern.

Runa used her hands to remove Reki's from her own shoulders. "You do not need to worry. I will be okay." she repeated, and leaned back into the couch.
