Chapter 1: Ren Todoroki

A Few Years Before The Start Of My Hero Academia.

Spoilers Regarding Chapter 301-302*

Enji Todoroki's POV*(Age: 26)

Rei and I were meeting with the doctor regarding Ren and Yuki's Quirk capabilities.

The doctor said, "We'll start with Ren, hers is quite the peculiar case. It seems she's inherited your fire, however, she seems to have inherited her mother's genes. To be precise she's developed a body that has the aptitude for the cold rather than a tolerance to fire. Yuki, on the other hand, seems to be Ice and her genes seem to be the mothers and fathers. Yuki has the full Ice Quirk but with the little genes she has from you, she can heat her body but not utilize fire. She does have a tolerance for the cold and the heat but she only has the Ice Quirk, not fire and ice. Does that make sense?".

Rei and I nodded.

Ren Todoroki's POV*(Age: 4)

My twin sister Yuki and I were sitting by our little sister Fuyumi talking.

I said, "So what if I get burned a bit! I can handle it! I'm the one who understands my body best, not some doctor.".

Fuyumi said, "But Fuyumi doesn't wanna see big sister Ren covered in owies. Big sister Ren's my favorite sister.".

Yuki smiled patting her head and said, "You're good sister, Fuyumi.".

I ran off saying, "Fuyumi, Yuki, neither of you understands! You just don't understand!".

Yuki chased me and Fuyumi said, "But I'm worried!".

I angrily said, "I've already decided that I'm gonna surpass him! Dad's the one who ignited that feeling in me!".

1 Year Later*

Our baby brother, Natsuo was born.

In the back of my mind, I began to feel the neglect but I didn't want to believe it.

3 Years Later*(Ren & Yuki Are 8 Now)

Our newest baby brother Shoto was born.

I was distraught.

Later on, we were training in the forest.

I finished up burning my training dummies and I was crying.

Yuki hurried over to me and I said, "Dad... we can surpass him too! Look, Yuki... I'm able to make such strong flames! Look at me!".

Yuki pulled me in for a hug and cooled my wounds and body while she cried into my back.

I started crying even more and Yuki sadly said, "I'm watching.".

Later at home, Dad was kneeling down to me and Dad said, "Stop it! Why don't you understand! You're getting this burnt... and you still don't realize?! Ren!! You need to look elsewhere! Play with Yuki, Fuyumi, or Natsuo!! Make some friends at school!! There are other worlds outside of being a hero... Don't you understand?! Eventually you'll forget all about it!".

I started crying and I said, "But everyone at school said they wanted to be heroes... There's no way you'd understand...! Because I'm your daughter.".

Flames formed all around me and Yuki said, "Ren you need to cool down.".

I cried, "Dad ignited the fire in me...! It won't go away...!! I can't get it out of my head!".

My flames got brighter and I looked down and said, "Look at me Endeavor! Look at me!!".
