Let it go, let it go
You only need the light when it's burning low

Nico was standing in a cemetery, in front of a swallow pit full with leftover burgers, fries and beverages from McDonald's.

Let it go, let it go
You only need the sun when it starts to snow

Snow was falling on his head and covering his aviator's jacket. A small tear was running down his face, making his cheek freeze as the cold air blew.

Cause here I stand, and here I'll stay
You only know you love her when you let her go
Oooh

Leo entered the graveyard holding some flowers. Christmas roses. He passed Nico without noticing and headed to a grave near him. Nico lifted his head and saw Leo. Leo finally noticed him. His eyes, full of pain and tears, locked with Nico's worried ones.

The cold never bothered me anyway

'What are you doing here Nico? You don't even have a coat! You'll freeze!', Leo said while trying to wipe the tears off his face.
Nico raised his shoulders like he said I don't really care.
'The cold never bothered me', he said.

Staring at the bottom of your glass
Hoping one day you'll make a dream last
But dreams come slow, and they go so fast

Nico looked at the grave that he and Leo were facing.
RIP
Esperanza Valdez

He didn't have to read nothing else. He looked at Leo, who wasn't trying to hide his tears anymore. He knew what it was like to lose someone.
He remembered Bianca's smile, the way she used to tell him off in Italian, her warm hugs when she confronted him, saying, Non abbiate paura, io sarò sempre con voi il mio soldatino.

You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day you'll understand why
Everything you touch surely dies

Leo was sobbing know. He could actually see his mother working in the shop when he closed his eyes, smiling at him, saying, I'm proud of you mijo, keep up the good work.
Why?, he wanted to scream. Why everything I touch turns to ashes?

Don't let them in
Don't let them see
Be the good guy you always have to be

Nico wondered the last words that Bianca said to him today, when he talked to her ghost.
'Don't shut everyone out soldatino. Tell someone how you feel about Percy'
'No! I can't do that! What would they think of me?'
She smiled sadly.
'Times have changed mi amore, being gay isn't bad anymore'

Conceal, don't feel
Don't let the know
Well now they know

'I still can't do it Bianca! I'm a son of Hades, and that is bad enough for everyone in the camp! If I tell them I'm... I just can't do it!'
Her ghost hand tried to touch him, but failled.
'Nico, you can't pretend forever! They're starting to get suspisious! It's better to tell them yourself!'

Let it go, let it go
You only need the light when it's burning low

'I'm sorry il mio angelo, I have to leave. And this time is forever. You won't see me again.'
'No! Bianca! Please! Tu sei la mia guida, la mia luce, non lasciarmi!'

Let it go, let it go
You only need the sun when it starts to snow

He saw a ghost tear running down her face.
'Mi dispiace il mio angelo. Addio!'

Cause here I stand, and here I'll stay
You only know you love her when you let her go
Oooh

Leo bowed on the grave, leaving the flowers on the other stuff he had brought the other time he visited his mother. He wanted to stay here forever, crying. But he knew he had to go.

The cold never bothered me anyway

He felt the cold breeze freezing the tears on his face. Nico grabbed his hand, his eyes teary as Leo's. Both boys were feeling better knowing they had each other to depend on.

Let it go
Let her go

'Leo, I-I want to tell you something.', he said, feeling his cheeks getting warmer from embarasement. 'Bianca told me to say it to someone, and we're friends, right?'
Leo nodded.
'Of course dummy!'
Nico gulped.
'I-I... I have a crush on... Percy Jackson'
'Our friend?', he asked confused. 'Oh, ok.'

And now you know

Nico opened his eyes in disbelieve.
'You... You don't mind I'm... gay?'
Leo laughed, making his tears disappear.
'Of course not Ghost King! Why would I?'

Let it go, let it go
You only need the light when it's burning low

'Thank you Leo!'
The new day caught the two boys hugging, leaving the pained memories of their dead loved ones behind.

Let it go, let it go
You only miss the sun when it starts to snow

'Nico look! It stopped snowing!', Leo said with a big smile.

Cause here I stand, and here I'll stay
You only know you love her when you let her go
Oooh

'Come on Death Breath. Let's go to get breakfast!', Leo said putting his hand around Nico's shoulders.
Nico smiled.
'Thank you il mio amico spagnolo!', he teased him.
'Whatever for you mi amigo italiano!'

The cold never bothered me anyway

The last snowflakes fell on the Christmas roses and the leftover burgers as the boys left the cemetery behind them.

A/N: *dies from feels*

Ok, I wrote that a year ago, but, for some unknown reason when I read it again on my Deviant art account, I still liked it.

Now. I wrote that before BoO was out, so, if you can't see how it's possible in the timeline, it's not. Let's say it's a doomed timeline! >; ]

The song is a mash up by Sam Tsui, Let it Go/Let her Go.

Also, many many thanks to @daedalusdavinci and @fireworksphan for reading the story when I wrote it on Deviant art! You guys are great!

Wow, that's the longest A/N I've ever written!

Bye my lovely red velvet cupcakes! 🍭🐼
