"some people would say you have a lot of time on your hands to be chasing these two vampires for decades" I say loud enough for Elijah to hear

"not when betrayal is the reason" he bites back, proceeding to knock on the door. We both wait patiently in silence, Elijah not moving from his stern position.

you see I'm not a very patient person, don't make me wait. I decide to nudge the front door, it creeks open slowly but surely, Elijah sends me a side eye but i simply shrug as he continues to glance around the surroundings within the house before us. Elijah begins stepping forward with a raised brow, I glance up from the ground and am greeted with Rose.

Rose, rose, rose, it's been years honestly since I've seen a glimpse of her. I take her walking down the stairs as my queue to walk inside alongside Elijah.

"Rose-Marie" Elijah states as Rose descends the rest of the stairs. She glances at me, her eyes sightly widening at my appearance
"Is there somewhere we can talk?" Elijah requests in a monotone tone. Rose inhales a deep breath, clearly hesitating and thinking through her next words wisely

"Yes" she finally responds "in here, you have to forgive the house", she notices that my face is sightly grimacing at the dirt and junk around us

"oh,no. What's a little dirt" Elijah says

"a little?" I ask clearly amused, Rose looks down. She hasn't met my eyes once, Elijah glances at me with warning as he continues walking into the house

"I completely understand" he explains, making his way towards a corridor, motioning for me to follow.
I obey.
"So tell me, what is it that gives you the courage to call me?" He questions rose

"I wanted my freedom" she explains "I'm tired of running, are you in a position to grant me that?"
I continue scanning my surroundings,

"I have complete authority to grant pardon to you and your little pet" Elijah begins

"what is his name these days?" I chime in "Trevor?"
sarcasm lacing  my voice, Elijah nods his head slightly at me

"Katerina Petrova" Rose states, I snap around to look at her eyebrows raised. Elijah slowly turns to face her

"I'm listening" he states

"She didn't burn in the church in 1864" Rose informs us, Elijah places a hand on my upper back leading me towards an old Victorian chair. Offering me a seat but I politely decline, him taking it for himself with crossed legs one over the other.

"Continue"

"She survived."

"Where is she?"

"You don't seem surprised by this."

"Oh when you called me and invited me into the workout of civilisation which is a mere three hours from the town we know as mystic falls" my eyes widen again, I didn't even notice we were in mystic falls proximity
"I surmised it had everyone to do with Katerina" Elijah glances at me slightly, his eyes immediately explaining he will fill me in later. I nod
