Chapter 3 part 2

Both Kunoichi were stuck in their room, not sure what to do. They wanted to check on the other but were also afraid to do something wrong. However, the Uzumaki worked up the courage and walked into Sakura's room.

"Hi? Is there anything you need?" Sakura was laying in bed but quickly got out of it when she saw Karin enter her room.

"Can I... would you mind if I... slept in your room tonight?" Sakura's eyes widened for a second in shock. Compared to the redheads behavior from before this was quite the change, not that the pink haired woman minded or anything.

"Of course! I have a relatively big bed to fit the both of us" Karin realized now that Sakura only slept in underwear which was very different from Karin who was sleeping in full pajama that covered her body.

"Thank you" both laid in bed together, exchanging glances at one another as they faced each other.

"Can I ask what made you decide to sleep in my room?" Sakura decided to try to break the ice between and she was genuinely curious.

"I guess I'm tired of being alone"

"I'll always be here for you, ya know?" Karin nodded slowly but she still questioned the action.

"But why though? I supported a man that tried to destroy a village and a man who tried to kill you" The Uzumaki's voice was a bit shaky and Sakura gently took Karin's hand to reassure her.

"Because what they have done doesn't define you. You are your own person. You didn't do what they did" Sakura tried to convince and it did reassure the redhead a bit.

"Ever since... you told me about your past, I felt so heartbroken, you didn't deserve what happened to you in the past and I guess I... just want to try to be the good thing in your life to make up everything that happened to you. You deserve to be happy too now when there is peace in the world" Sakura scooches closer to Karin to be more present.

"That's a lot of responsibility. To go so far to please one person" Karin argues but Sakura still held on to her words and caresses the Uzumaki's hand with her thumb.

"Well it's you're one of my closest friends so doing all of this is all worth it to me" Sakura smiles gently at Karin who still had a frown on her face still doubting herself.

"If that's so... can you promise to never leave me?"

"Promise" without hesitation and with a gentle smile, Sakura promised Sakura to never leave her. For her it was an obvious decision she didn't give a second thought of it. Sakura just knew it's something she wanted to promise.
Karin who didn't expect such a fast answer had made her rather blushy and broke eye contact out of fluster.

"I'm getting sleepy now... Could you hold me?" Again without hesitation, Sakura lays closer to Karin to be able to properly wrap her arms around the redhead.
As the night went by they would snuggle closer and closer, letting their limbs tangle together in comfort.

Both kunoichi woke up relatively early, it was the weekend after all so they could snooze how much they wanted. However they ended up just shyly exchanging glances with each other.

"Your hair is really nice when it's messy like this" Sakura blushes and plays with the redhead's hair.

"H-huh? Why make me flustered like that all of a sudden!" Usually Karin's response to someone who makes her feel embarrassed is a harsh slap to the face but how could you do that to someone who displayed so much kindness to you? The pink haired woman simply giggles at the reaction she got out of Karin.

"Let's say, I make you some breakfast to make up from yesterday?"

"Don't be ridiculous, I was the one overreacting" Karin argues and quickly gets out of the bed.

"... Can we at least make breakfast together?"

"... Fine" Karin gives in and lets Sakura take her hand as they both walk to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the both of them. They cooked up some rice, fried some salmon and egg to go with the rice. A classic Japanese breakfast.
Them eating together felt relieving now but Sakura still wanted to know what really happened yesterday so she knew what to do or not to do next time when a similar situation happens. Of course the green eyed woman didn't bring that up first thing first and let's themselves enjoy a nice breakfast before she speaks about it.

"Karin... I know it's still a bit sensitive subject but I really would like to know what happened yesterday. I want to help you when something bothers you to the point that you don't really feel like yourself, you know? It's what friends do. I understand if you don't want to talk about it right now but I would like to know more in the future how to support you." The word "friends" stung the redhead somehow but she kept her composure.

"I... I guess I got overwhelmed. I'm not used to receiving so much... care. People have always used me for my personal gain so having this special person in my life who actually puts me first and does things for my sake that doesn't even affect you" After last night and now this morning, she felt comfortable enough to reveal these thoughts and feelings. With so much Sakura has proven, what could go wrong?

The Haruno who took this to heart really solidifies her feelings about wanting to take care of the female Uzumaki.

"I see. I will take things more step by step so you get used to it" Sakura smiles before continuing speaking.

"Because after everything that happened you really deserve to do things for you and no one else" Karin slowly nodded, slowly but steadily accepting Sakura's kind words. It's not that the redhead didn't believe her friend, it was just difficult to take it in. They finish their breakfast and put everything on the dish before snuggling up on the sofa to continue watching their favorite show.
Sakura could tell that the redhead was feeling better as she was back with funny and snarky comments about the show's inaccuracies of the medical field.

"Karin, your glasses are super dirty! Let me fix that for you" Sakura didn't admit it to herself but she was staring into Karin's eyes and that's how she noticed the dirty glasses. The pink haired woman took the glasses for a moment to clean them with her own clean shirt. She had to look down when doing that which caused Karin to lean closer. She just had the sudden urge of letting her lips rest on Sakura's forehead, however when Sakura was done cleaning Karin's glasses she looked up again and the two kunoichi would find their faces very close to each other than usual. For both it was like being caught in the headlights, both frozen just looking at each other being able to feel each other's breath because they were that close.

Sakura glances between Karin and their lips which the redhead caught on and her heart started to beat faster. Sakura was about to give in and lean closer but the ringing of the doorbell interrupted the two.

"I'm sorry, I'll get that" Karin stood up and could feel the pink haired woman's hand attempting to grabs her but something hindered Sakura to hold on and just lets her hand slip away.
