Medicine For Love (SakuKarin) Fanfic

Chapter 3 part 1

Now when Sakura has settled down she could start focusing on her project about a clinic taking care of traumatized children. It was still in the drawing board stage but Sakura was getting somewhere. This made hanging out with Karin very short as well. They made sure that they at least ate breakfast and dinner together!

However Sakura felt it was still too little time with her roommate so she even started to bring Karin with her when she was going out with her girl friends. It was a bit awkward for the redhead at first as they all knew who she used to work for and still kinda do. But not only made Sakura sure that Karin was comfortable but the rest of the girl group reassured Karin that her past didn't define her. It only took a few weeks until the group became solid with Karin. Ino would continually tease how Sakura and Karin would get lost in their own little world when they were supposed to hang out with the rest of the Konoha kunoichi. They didn't mind of course but it was fun to poke fun at the obvious lovers.

Karin didn't want to admit it but she was very much aware that there is a special connection between her and Sakura ever since that time when they ate ramen together with Naruto. Speaking of Naruto, the redhead would pull herself back to reality after dozing off for a moment so she could supervise Naruto's training properly. The blonde boy was able to seal bigger creatures like Gamabunta at this point and Karin isn't super surprised if you think about what Naruto is capable of doing now after the last war. She knew his wedding was coming up soon however so she might have to make him repeat that stage of training just as a refresher.

"So what will be next? I can even seal Gamabunta with a simple sealing technique now so I imagine I'm ready for the next step!" As usual Naruto is way too excited about his progress and just want to be steps ahead,

"Calm down now. You have a wedding to handle very soon so we will be taking a break so you can fix all of that'' She states as she knew that the blonde wouldn't be able to balance training and the final wedding plannings anyways. Naruto groans a bit but totally understands the redhead's reasoning.

"I guess you're right. I hope it won't be too much for you, A lot of people want to attend the wedding and I want to try to please everyone" The male Uzumaki asks and it left Karin a bit confused at that sentence.

"What do you mean?"

"You're invited to mine and Hinata's wedding"

"I am what now-" The redhead was most likely undermining herself as she did not deserve anything the leaf provided her.

"Of course! You're my teacher and friends with Hinata. I'm also pretty sure Sakura would be pretty upset if we didn't invite you" He chuckles awkwardly as he imagine how hard Sakura would slap him if he actually didn't invite his cousin. This only made Karin raise her eyebrow in curiosity.

"And why would she be upset if I wasn't invited to your wedding?" Naruto's expression turned more serious. By how the redhead questioned his friend's feelings about her, it made it clear that Karin wasn't aware how much she meant to Sakura.

"You mean a lot to Sakura, ya know. Recently, every time I talk to her she always ends up talking about you and how you guys are doing together"

"Why are you telling me all this?" She kept a straight face despite a lot of emotions flowing within her at the moment. When she got attached to people, she always sought validation from them but she has always been so used to people just not caring or even outright leaving her and so she developed this kind of behavior and with that tried to get attached so easily. But Sakura had easily broken those walls and that same behaviors clearly showed but the pink haired woman didn't even mind and even returned similar feelings. This was new to the redhead and she wasn't sure how to handle these feelings.

"I feel like you need to know. I'm pretty sure Sakura might not admit that at first either" he lightly chuckles.

"Enough training for today. I need to take a rest when I get home" The Uzumakis said their goodbyes before taking their separate ways.

When Karin got home she was hit with a certain scent she hasn't smelled since she was a child, when her mother was alive.
She walks over to the kitchen to see Sakura cooking a very traditional Uzumaki dish. She remembers that they had a conversation talking about food and Karin had shared a specific dish that was usually made in Uzumaki households.

"Oh hi Karin! I finally got time to try out the dish we talked about. It sounded so delicious so I couldn't help myself trying to cook it. I'm not super sure if it will be on par with how an actual Uzumaki makes it but I hope this will be good enough" Sakura just finished cooking and started to serve on the already prepared table.

"I'm sure it's good" she simply says as she tried to sort her mind out which was reliving childhood memories that gave her all sorts of feelings. It was a sense of home, safety, love but also a sense of emptiness was dreading over her.
They sat down to eat and Karin was hit with so many thoughts. She could only take three bites before she hastily stood up from her chair.

"I'm so sorry. I just can't do this right now. I need to be alone-"

"O-oh? Is everything alright? You looked bothered since you got home?" Sakura tried to check on Uzumaki but Karin insisted.

"I'll be fine but I really need to be alone now Sakura... please" She didn't make any eye contact and just went straight to her room to lock herself in to be alone with her thoughts. The redhead just couldn't understand why Sakura of all people would go so far for Karin despite the things she has done. Was this how Sasuke felt about Naruto?
She really wants to be and enjoy the things Sakura does for her but it became so complicated what Karing felt about herself and what she deserved.

Sakura had to finish her dinner before covering the leftovers and put them in the fridge. She would also return to her room and question if there was something she did wrong to Karin or if there were outside sources that had made the redhead upset which sounded more likely to Sakura.
