Dallas.

That's where my auditions are being held. I'm more nervous than excited. How can I not be nervous? This is my one and only make it or break it opportunity.

At the audition's location, there's so many people with the same ambitions and dreams as me. I just hope I can make a bigger impression than the others.

I walked around the crowd to find a much shorter line on the side.

I guess there are two lines here: a line for walk-on auditions and a line for those who auditioned online. The online auditions line was much shorter thank god. I only waited about a half an hour before I got my audition number and was sent to the waiting room.

I guess if you auditioned online, you can skip the whole process of auditioning before going to the real judges.

In the waiting room, I plugged my headphones in and listened to music to calm my nerves. My mom was here with me too, and although she can usually calm me down, I was too anxious to be bothered with right now.

I waited for who knows how long until my name was called telling me I'm up next.

My mom and I walked down a hall before we were met by Ryan Seacrest. I would be lying if I said I wasn't star-strucked. On top of that, we were surrounded by cameras and I wasn't sure how to act.

Ryan had a short conversation with my mom and I before he sent me in to the judging room.

I was shaking so much, my nerves were taking the best of me.

This is actually happening. I need to get it together. Okay Kirsten, breath. You can do this.

I took a huge breath before opening the doors and putting a smile on my face for the three judges.

A chorus of "hi's" were thrown at me and I replied, "Hi guys, my name is Kirsten."

"Hey Kirsten. How are you and where are you from?" Harry asked.

"I'm from a small town in Texas and I'm kind of nervous," I said, lightly chuckling.

"Don't be nervous, sweetie. What song are you going to sing?" J-Lo asked.

"I'm going to sing 18 by One Direction," I replied.

They nodded and the pianist began playing.

I sang out the lyrics as well as I could even with my nerves coursing through my body.

It was probably really obvious that I was nervous, but I hope the performance I gave was good enough to get me through.

Keith raised his hand up signaling me to stop.

Jennifer gave me a big smile before saying, "Wow, I'm blown away. Although I could tell you were nervous, I could see so much passion in your voice and it really moved me."

That one comment meant the world to me and gave me a lot more confidence in my voice.

Everything else was a blur because I was just overwhelmed with excitement.

I got through.
