Kim's pov

I carry my knight and place it on the board. I look up at Alexa, completely confused about what I should do. She smiles and moves her bishop, consuming one of my pawns.

" Umm, okay! I won't take this anymore. You have been consuming all of my soldiers! What do you want me to play?" I frown and fold my hands. She laughs at me and eyes me.

Not like I know how to play the game but she has been taking out all of my soldiers and if she keeps doing that, I won't be able to move anything in the game again.

" It is your turn to play!" She says with a smile.

" What do you want me to play? You offered to teach me this game yet you keep oppressing me with your knowledge of the game!" I glare at her.

So far, she has been the only person I have spoken to properly all day. Since 5am, I have been working out and training with Stephanie or Alicia. Or maybe I should rephrase that.

Since 5am, I woke up to noise and beatings from Alicia in the name of training. Now, this is around 6pm and it is just one hour to the special meeting in the hall that they say is very important but I am not interested in it. Alexa got my attention and I decided to give her a chance.

She took me to a huge dining in the house where she saw as the best location to play chess.

I wonder why I am surrounded with weirdos.

Everybody in the dining have been looking at me and maybe gossiping but I really don't care about them. If I had the chance to run, I would have gone far and live a normal life.

I have been rude all day and I am still wondering how she is curtailing my attitude but she has been doing great so far.

Well, during my training, I got to learn that I am the youngest in the house of 17 warriors so i shouldn't mess up unless I want to get beaten up. Not like father will care anyway.

" Number one, the game of chess requires common sense and sharp eyes also senses. Number two, the game of chess doesn't fully require all your soldiers gone. The aim is to keep your opponent's king in a difficult position. You can win this game with just three warriors. As far as your senses are intact." A lady walks over to me with a guy beside her. They sit down opposite me, both holding pretzels.

I can recognise the lady. She was the one who told me she pitied me and that she felt bad for my dad because he had to start all over again with my training and all. She looked like she hated me when she said it that day. I wonder why she is telling me all of these right now.

" Hey, I am Hudson. Hailee's brother. We are not twins so you don't need to ask why we look so much alike. I am the younger brother ." He says and crosses his legs on the table.

" Nobody asked." Hailee says and moves my queen.

" You don't have to help me. This is not your game!" I glare at her and push her hand away from the board.

" I can assure you, that was a difficult move she played there." Alexa says and stares at the board like she is thinking of what to do.

" Now I see why you didn't make any impacts in that stupid kingdom. Instead, you were chasing our enemies around and sneaking out to parties. Are you that pathetic? You were basically a nincompoop." She says calmly and places her pretzel in her mouth.

" I don't remember asking for your opinion, chump." I reply as her brother coughs hysterically.

" What did you just call me? Bitch, you are the chump here. A confirm patsy." Hailee scoffs.
