I'm sitting down, as everyone is running into the water. I watch Finn, chase Noah. I smile, as I watch them laugh. Why are you looking at him? Stop it, it's weird. I look away, but my eyes dart back to him. He stops suddenly, and looks around. He looks at me, and yells something to Noah, he runs to me. He sits down next to me.

"Aren't you coming?"
"No."
"Oh come on. Why not?"
"I don't wanna get my hair wet." I lie. He gives me a 'seriously' look.
"Oh come on."
"I'll look like a wet dog." I say laughing. He smiles.
"I doubt that." He looks into my eyes.
"Oh trust me I will."
"Then let's see." He says hopeful.
"Nope." I say laughing. He stands up and looks around, he looks at something.

"Oh my god! Look!" He says pointing.
"What?" I ask.
"Here stand up." He puts his hand out. I take it, and he helps me up.
"What?" I ask not seeing it.
"Oh nothing." He ducks down and throws me over his shoulder. He starts running to the water.

I yell for him to stop, I hit his back, wanting him to put me down. He just laughs. He's in the water, a wave comes and splashes me lightly. I close my eyes to not see the water. He throws me in to a deep part.

The cool water surrounding my body. The memories of my father holding me down. The pain, all coming back, despite me trying to push them away. His hands on my back keeping me underwater. The pain in my lungs. Except, for this time no one is holding me down. Then, everything goes black.

I throw her in laughing. I expect her to pop up, but to my surprise she doesn't. My heart starts pounding. Maybe, she can't swim? I quickly pull her out. She passed out. My heart sinks.
"Y/n?" I ask hoping she's just playing. "Y/n?! Please." I beg, my heart starts pounding. I don't know what to do. "Gabi! Guys! Hurry! Help!" I tell holding her close to me, so her face stays well above water.

They all look over confused.
"What?!" Caleb yells.
"Y/n passed out!" I yell trying to keep myself from breaking down.
"What?! She's in the water?!" Gabi yells, swimming over.
"Yes! I- I-.." They all start swimming over.
"Get her to shore!" Gabi yells, as if she knows what's happening, and what to do.

I start swimming carefully back to shore, holding her. I get to the point to where the water is to shallow to just hold her. I pick her up, bridal style. I get to where our stuff are. I lay her down carefully.

Gabi and everyone come running. Gabi sits by her.
"Okay quick, come here, she needs to lay her head on something." She says to me. She lifts y/n's head, and lays her on my lap. Gabi leans in to check if she's breathing.
"Okay good." She sighs.
"What's good?" I ask.
"She's breathing, meaning we don't have to take her to the hospital."
"So she'll be okay?" I ask quietly.
"Yes, she'll be okay. But I need to know what happened?"

"Oh right. So I asked her to come with, and she said no because she didn't want to get her hair wet. I ended up picking her up and putting her in, as a joke. Then she didn't get up and she was out, I don't know why. I don't know what I did." I look at y/n, who's still laying on me.
"Hey, it's okay. It wasn't you. You didn't know." Gabi says.
"Didn't know what?" I ask confused.
"It's not my place to tell you. You should ask her later, but it's really hard for her to talk about." I nod still looking at her.

"What do we do, do we just wait here until she wakes up?" Caleb asks.
"Yeah, because if not we would have to carry her." Gabi says.
"Well why don't we continue swimming." Noah says. "Because, there's no point in just standing here staring at her, while she's still out." He continues.
"I guess." Gabi says. "As long as Finn stays here, and lets us know when she wakes up."
"I will." I say. They all leave, some wanted to stay, but Gabi convinced them we were going to be fine.

I look back at y/n. She has wet strands of hair in her face. Gently I push them away, and tuck them behind her ears. I smile, as I remember that she said she'd look like a wet dog. Which of course she doesn't. My eyes run from her eyes to her nose, then lips. She was beautiful. She might be cold, I realize. I grab a towel and lay it over her.

I want nothing more than for her to be okay. I also want to hold her, not like earlier, when she could die, but like when she was crying. I could tell she felt safe in my arms. I loved being able to comfort her, even though I didn't even know why she was crying. "You only like it because you got to have physical contact with her." A part of my brain says. No, I think, but I think again, maybe? Like, yes, I would much prefer to be able to hold her like that anytime of day. When she's sad, mad, scared, happy, whenever.

I realize I had just been looking at her, the whole time, so I look over to the sand, and play with it, occasionally looking at y/n.

Everything starts coming back. I can hear the waves crash against the shore. I can breath. Am I dead? No, I don't think so. I open my eyes slowly. I see Finn.
"Finn?" I whisper. He looks over at me quickly, with a relived look.
"You're awake?" He whispers.
"No." I laugh, being sarcastic.
"I'm so sorry." He says, helping me sit up.
"It's okay."
"Gabi said something about me not knowing." My heart drops. "Could you please tell me, and yes I understand if you don't want to, or it's too hard." I look down scared. My hand starts to shake, just thinking about it.
"Hey, hey, hey it's okay." He grabs my hand. "Come here." I fall into his arms, feeling safe again. "You don't have to tell me anything if you're not ready."
"I want to just not right now."
"That's okay, I'll wait." He says letting go of me slowly.
"Thank you."
