Elena.
"What was that?!" I found myself yelling as I lead the way into the common room with Blaise and Draco in tow.
"What was what?" Draco asked, looking slight amused at my puffy and frustrated exterior.
This was nothing compared to what was going on, on the inside.
It was being torn apart by my own emotions.
"That shit you pulled with Black." I pointed at the common room door, breathing heavily.
"Are you -" started Blaise, causing both myself and Draco to look over at him. He had stopped mid-sentence and threw his hands up. "- you know what? Nevermind, I'm going to class," He glared over at me, and I bowed my head in shame.
He was still so pissed at me for being marked without his knowledge.
"You two work this shit out." He growled and adjusted his Slytherin bag on his shoulder as he disappeared out of the common room door.
I watched him exit and shook off the disappointed tension and replaced it with the jealous fury that was brewing in me towards Draco.
"What is your problem Elena? You said you would do anything to make this mission fall through right?" Draco inquired, tossing his bag onto the couch before dropping himself onto the cushion next to it. I stood there in silence, annoyed that my words have come back to haunt me. He knew that meant, yes. "I'm just having some fun, this won't turn out - "
I looked up from my shoes at his pause.
He had a puzzled look on his face.
"- why am I explaining myself to you?" He growled, throwing his hands up in confusion.
I didn't know how to respond, I just slowly dropped onto the couch across from him.
Was this really going to come up now?
Can he notice?
Is he noticing?
I began to breath heavily again, my heart began to race out of my chest.
I felt there was a huge sign over my head that read; "I LIKE YOU!"
"You're not jealous, are you?" He asked, leaning forward, resting his elbows on his knees as I shook my head a little too fast.
I bit my lower lip at my immediate response.
I was still too quiet....
"No, I'm not." I smirked, not making eye contact.
The thing about growing up with people is that they learn to know you, better than you know yourself - sometimes - and lucky for me, Draco was one of those people. He also happen to be the one I was falling for, completely...truly...deeply.
I sighed at the situation.
"Do you know something I don't?" Draco pushed, tilting his head at me. "Elena?"
I couldn't look him in the eye. No matter how hard I tried.
What the hell was going on? I felt as if I was being backed into a corner and the more he pushed for this information, whether it was in one way or another, I felt I was about to something rash.
"Look," I finally spoke up, forcing myself to make eye contact now. I was really struggling just to talk to him, right now. Maybe the confrontation wasn't the best idea, "I'm just trying to make sure this year goes smoothly with everyone and you messing or even teasing Black is a bad idea, I'm telling you!" I explained, trying to shove the attention off me.
Draco's smirk played into a grin as he asked, "Okay...I have my orders and you have yours, am I right?"
I just nodded, quietly.
Draco seemed to have sighed and had a lot of thoughts running through his head at once, and he kept glancing around the room and then looking at me.
What was he about to say?
I rose and moved to the cushion beside him as he followed my movement with his eyes and sighed again as I dropped down beside him.
"Elena," He smiled, patting my knee. I starred at his hand as he spoke, "I think we can both agree to stay out of each others missions." He pressed his lips together tightly, causing me to stare at them as if they were inviting me for a taste. I watched as he rose and grabbed his bag, he was about to make an attempt to leave - I say attempt because of what happened next. I found myself rising with him and catching his wrist before he could get out of arm's length.
"What is El-"
He was cut off, by me.
My lips against his.
My stomach was in my throat and my head was screaming while our lips danced for what seemed like hours, but in actuality it was a few moments. My heart longed for more.
My eyes fluttered open as I ended the kiss to realize what I had just done.
Draco's eyes glued onto mine as I released his face.
I dropped my hands and turned from him.
What the hell made me finally do that?
Was that a good idea?
My heart says yes, but my head says no.
Oh god...
I turned back to face him, only for my eyes to catch someone else to our side and my face dropped. I could feel the color drain from my own face.
"ELENA!?" gasped Blaise from the common room entrance.
"BLAISE!?" gasped myself and Draco in unison.
Draco threw his hands up and started to back away from me, which I felt pull a little on my heart as my gaze drifted from Draco to my, now even more, pissed off cousin.
"What the hell was that?" Blaise questioned, stepping between us, looking from one to the other. "I came to check to see if you two had made up..." He glared over at Draco as he finished his thought, "...obviously a little too well."
"Blaise," I started, attempting to place my hand on his shoulder, but he flinched away, squinting at Draco at this point, "before you blow your top, you have to know, I kissed him..."
"Bullshit Elena, if anyone knows Draco, its me-" he spat rounding on Draco, and I just backed up a little more. "- you, keep your hands, lips and your penis out or off of her! You fucking understand me? Draco, I know how you are with girls, so do me a favor and have fun with your detention tomorrow night with Black alright and leave my cousin out of this?!"
"Blaise..." Draco looked as if he was about to say something, but with a weird expression exchange between himself and Blaise, then myself, he, then, grabbed his Slytherin bag and books off the couch, before exiting the common room.
"I told you, I kissed him!" I spat as the common room entrance closed and Blaise rounded back on me.
My turn for a scolding, I guess.
"I know, and the same goes for you, you and I know how he is with girls..." he explained as I grabbed my Slytherin bag and slide the strap over my shoulder. "...why would you throw yourself into that?"
I just looked at him, I felt that I understood what he was saying, but I felt anger as well.
He had always pulled this shit when I made a move on a guy, just not this intense.
"I'm just trying to protect you. This isn't the easiest side to be on, El." he explained as I past him, making my way to the entrance. "Elena..." he started but froze when I stopped at the entrance.
"I know you are, but I'm only a few months younger than you Blaise, I'm not a child." I shot, turning and looking at him. "and I wish you would let me grow up." and with that I left him to stew in my of words.
