Hello my fine furry friends, so school is apparently harder than I thought it would be so I am sorry for not updating in so long, I have been taking time to make sure my mental health is okay. But it all payed off, I just got a note from my guidance counselor telling me that my GPA is a 4.14! So now that I have focused on my mental health I will hopefully be updating much more. <3

2 months later...
I have three more months until I graduate, three months until I need to find something new. The thing about growing up is no one tells you how to do it when you're sixteen, but luckily I have Spencer to help me through this. In the past two months I have helped on cases around the BAU. Some of the team was slightly hesitant about letting me help out on some cases but after the first case I was welcomed with open arms- literally, now I am normally not one for hugs but there is something about Penny's hugs that just comfort me. The BAU has become my second family, considering my first isn't doing too well. Ever since I started helping out my parents started becoming really paranoid, they started installing cameras and security systems. I mean with the field I want to go into I understand why but I feel as if they are going slightly overboard.
"Hey Mini"
I spun in my desk chair to face Tara who was walking down the bullpen towards my desk "Yeah"
"Penny needs you, something about 'Mini- Reid has special abilities' or something"
I nodded getting up from my desk and started making my way to the bat cave. Scanning my card I unlocked and opened the door. Immediately I was hit by the smell of her cupcake candle that she always had lit. She claims that it 'cleans the air of the icky'.
"Hey Tara said you needed me"
"Oh! Mini-Reid" she pulled out and extra chair patting it "come sit, come sit"
Grabbing a stress ball off her desk I made my way to the chair to sit down, "What's up?"
"Oh nothing, I just wanted to hang out with my favorite Reid" she said turning back around to continue with what she was working on.
I chuckled, these past couple of months I have grown close to Spencer and obviously the team has noticed. They started calling me Mini- Reid and joking about how Spencer and I are like father and daughter.
"Of course, so- a little birdie told me that you had a date this weekend" She quickly turned around with wide eyes.
"Wh- how do you know"
"Just a wild guess" I chuckled "But what is really interesting was the fact that you and Alvez both that to do something on Saturday."
To avoid eye contact she quickly turned around and started typing fast "Hmm that is interesting"
Prodding more I answered "wasn't Saturday the day you had the date"
Thats when she made her mistake, she looked over at me. As soon as our eyes met she broke, "FINE-Fine, but I swear Maya if you tell a sou-"
"Tell a soul what" Quickly both of our heads turned to see Spencer with a confused look on his face. Penny quickly looked back at me as I swiped my pointer and thumb fingers over my lips creating an imaginary lock. She then held out her hand to me and I placed the imaginary key into her palm.
"Nothing" I said nodding as I stood up to stand next to Spencer
"Alright, Maya I am ready to go when you are" he said rocking back on his heels.
"Sure, I just have to grab my bag and then we can leave"
After saying bye to Penny we both made our way to my desk, saying goodbye along the way. After grabbing my bag we made our way to the elevator.
"Hey do you want to do a movie night tonight, its Friday so we don't have class tomorrow" I asked looking up at him
Spencers eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store, but quickly diminished as he tried to hide his excitement "Yeah, only if I can pick the movie this time"
"Okay deal" I said raising my pinky, he quickly linked his pinky with mine smiling.

For some reason without a doubt Spencer always picks The Nightmare before Christmas, I mean not that I'm complaining it's a classic! While on the way home I convinced Spencer that we need snacks in order to have a proper movie night. We stopped at the store and we both picked out a snack. After walking down the aisles of the store we collectively decided on ice cream.
"Whoever is the last one to the ice cream has to order dinner" I said as I started running down the aisle. I heard Spencer gasp and then I heard his clumsy feet falling one after another trying to catch up with me.
Spencers POV
I turned into the ice cream aisle to see Maya standing there hold two pints of ice cream on chocolate and one vanilla.
"Which one?" she asked once she saw me
"Both" I smiled as she did a little happy dance
After grabbing a few more things I need we checked out and started driving back to my place. Normally when we drive Maya is rambling about something; not that I mind but even when she isn't and it is silent- it's always a comfortable silence. But today was different, Maya hadn't said anything since we left the grocery store and I could feel the tension radiation off of her.
"Maya" I quickly looked over to her noticing her head was down and she didn't even bring her head up to acknowledge me "You know you can tell me if something wrong- right"
She quickly turned her head to look at me, a weak smile plastered her face
"I know"
Pulling into the parking lot of my apartment I nodded at her. Pulling out my keys I handed them to her.
"Go on inside, I will be right up with the food okay"
I watched her as she walked up the steps and into the elevator before I got out. Grabbing my bag I stood up and walked to the back of the car to get the food. Shutting the door with my foot I quickly locked the car back up and made it into the elevator in time before it started raining.
~~~~~
After putting the food away and grabbing the ice cream for Maya and I, I made my way over to the couch where Maya was already sitting wrapped in a blanket singing along to the movie. I couldn't help but notice how tired she seemed but even still she had a bright smile on her face.
"Here" I said as I handed her the vanilla ice cream as I sat down right next to her as she curled her body up against mine with her head resting on my arm. We both sat there content as we watched the movie, the flashes of lightning adding to the movie. It wasn't long before I noticed Maya's breaths getting slower and her body becoming looser as she began to fall asleep. Wrapping my arm around her I let her cuddle up to me. I don't know what it is about her but with all the bad I have been through in my life, she's the good. I know that I love this kid that is asleep in my arms, more than I think I have ever loved anyone. I knew that no matter what I would protect her and be there for her. She was the light I needed in my darkness.
Knowing she was asleep I whispered "I'm am never going to let anything bad happen to you, even if its the last thing I do"
I quickly kissed her on the head before falling asleep to the flashes of the movie and the storm and to my thoughts. The thing was, with all of the thoughts going through my head I never stopped to wonder why I hadn't heard any thunder all night.
