I'm actually going off a script of all the characters I found on a Danganronpa V1 Wiki, so every time a character talks (except for Akari) It's most likely from that script. I really wanted it to be more accurate, you know?
HAVE FUN READING!Akari Chō walked down the empty sidewalk, her platform shoes silently clicking against the concrete. She let out a quiet sigh, happy that the streets weren't flooded with cars, and people weren't there to barge into her as she walked slowly along the path that was leading her to seemingly no where. She pulled out a packet of gum from her pocket, quickly slipping the mint flavored rectangle into her mouth. She chewed on the gum, looking into empty shops and abandoned restaurants that now filled the once popular and glowing city. Akari took a right turn and was surprised to see a big building awaiting her. She took a small step back, looking up at the only clean-looking structure that she had seen. She pulled a crumbled up piece of paper out of her bag that she had slumped across her shoulder, looking at the picture it had previewed, then looking up at the building. She let out what sounded like a groan as she noticed the buildings looked the same. She had finally arrived to Hopes Peek High.
She skimmed her eyes over the words that the paper had held on it, reading over everything one last time to make sure she didn't forget anything and embarrass herself in front of everyone. She then crumbled the paper back up, starting her walk to the to the entrance of the school. As she reached for the door handle, an unsettling feeling reached her fingertips, stopping her in her tracks. She slowly pulls her hand back, looking around her to see nothing out of the ordinary, except for a few abandoned buildings. She shrugged, letting out an unphased yawn as she reached for the door handle once again. The unsettling feeling comes to her again. She yanked her hand back to her side in an annoyed manner, making a clicking noise with her tongue. She curiously went to the the closest window she could find and held her emotionless face up to the cold glass. She couldn't see a thing.
The only thing she saw was a shining grey color, which honestly reminded her of silver with the way the sun reflected off it. She let out a "Hmph" noise, tearing her face away from the useless window and making her way back to the entrance, where she ignored the feeling that had been bothering her. She swung open the door, which luckily didn't instantly close as she paused to see if anything would jump out and try to scare her. She crossed her arms, sighing as she took a step into the suspicious building. She walked slowly, looking around at the dark brown walls and the dirty checkered floor. Her body was weirdly enough tingling, but she ignored this warning as she started confidently strutting to the gym where she had to attend the entrance ceremony, which started at 8:00 A.M. She was fashionably late by about 10 minutes, but she didn't mind if people would criticize her for it. She didn't mind anything really, as she is the Ultimate "High School Level" Mystery.
She walked through the room that had made her feel slightly uncomfortable, taking big, smooth steps as if she was showing off her long, muscular legs. Though, there was no one there to see them as, like outside, the building was completely empty. She let a slight frown cross her face, as even though she loved being alone, school would just be boring if she was the only one there. She took a final turn which let her to a big door, a sign that read "Gym" above it. She let out a grunt as she opened the door that didn't lead to a gym, but an achievement room, or it was something like that. She rolled her eyes, angrily swinging open a final door, which revealed a big gym behind it. She let out a relieved sigh.
"Finally," She muttered under her breathe, carelessly closing the door behind her and taking a few steps into the room. She looked around at a group of around 15 people. She slowly looked at them all, slight suspicion covering her usually emotionless face. She gave a somehow warm smile, reaching into her pocket to pull out her packet of gum once again.
"Hello," She said softly with a giggle. "Anyone want some gum?" Looks of confusion stared back at her, which turned her warm, happy expression into a frown. "What? Is something wrong with my face or something?" She asked in a disgusted sounding tone.
Silence.
She sighed, putting the box of gum back into her skirt pocket and starting a walk around the gym, looking for a quiet, empty place to sit.
"You... You're exactly 13.54 minutes late."
Akari Spins Around. "Excuse me?" She scans the room, searching for the face that dare be such a smart ass about time.
"You're... Ah, my apologize. 12.54 minutes late." The male voice speaks again, loud and clear. "Though, that is still unacceptable, and is worth a punishment."
Akari sighs as she realizes the boy who was speaking in an annoyingly loud tone seemed to be some kind of honor roll student. "You see," She started, "I honestly couldn't care less. Besides, the principal or whatever isn't even here yet, so I don't see why it matters how late I am." She said in a sensible tone. The purple haired boy huffed, but then looked slightly concerned.
"Where is the principal anyways? It's one thing for a student to be late, but for the principal to be late to their own occasion..."
"Hey there, howdy, hello! Is everyone here? Good! Then let's get things rolling!"
A cheerful, happy voice is suddenly heard, practically on queue. A black and white bear then pops up from behind the podium in the middle of the stage.
"Huh? A teddy bear?" A girlish, but slightly masculine voice says.
"I'm not a teddy bear! I...am...Monokuma! And I am this school's headmaster!" The bear says, slightly offended. Akari stays silent, slightly confused on whats happening. She shrugged it off, stuffing another piece of gum into her mouth. "Nice to meet you all!" The teddy bear said, trying to sound welcoming.
"Wa--? Waaaaaah! That teddy bear can talk!" Another voice rang in Akaris ear with a slight lisp.
"Calm down! I'm sure there's just a speaker inside it." The boy Akari had first talked to tried sounding positive, but his plan back fired.
"I told you already, I'm not a teddy bear..." Monokuma said, sounding angry. "I'm Monokuma! And I'm your headmaster!" The bear raised its arms in a strangling position, as if threatening to hurt them.
"Waaaaah! It moved!" The same voice with a lisp said again. All this talking was starting to annoy Akari, but she decided to stay quiet, and not bring any more attention to herself than she already did.
"Seriously man, calm down! It's prolly just a remote control toy or somethin'." A boy with brown, triangular shaped hair said, but he was just saying it because he wanted something to prove, not to be positive. Somehow, Akari could just tell.
"How dare you compare me to a child's plaything! You've cut me deep. Deeper than the Mariana Trench..." Monokuma started. Akari noticed the bear liked to stop in the middle of his sentences a lot. She let a small grin creep up on her face. She liked this bears responses to insults. "My remote control system is so complex, even the folks at NASA can't recreate or even comprehend it!" Monokuma stated. Akari slightly raised her eyebrows, impressed. "Ah, but don't make me say stuff that might destroy NASA's dreams. I just couldn't BEAR that!" Monokuma said, including a small pun, which made Akari quietly snicker. A couple students turned to glare at her.
"I'm sorry," She said with a small giggle. "That was just stupidly funny. You can continue."
"'Bear' that? Really? You are...unfortunate." A voice of an unamused girl came.
"Now then, moving on! We really must hurry and get started..." Monokuma said, trying to change the subject and get on with the actual ceremony.
"Giving up already? No other stupid bear puns?" A voice of a bratty girl came, and I slightly reminded Akari of the model... What was her name? Ah, Junko, that was it.
"Quiet down now, quiet down. Ah, okay, so...!" The bear tried continuing once again.
"He has abandoned the gag..." The voice of a muscular girl (Who was standing in front of Akari) said. Akari smiled. She felt as if this would be a fun first day of school.
"Everyone stand at attention and bow! And...good morning!" The bear said, trying to make this as normal as it could get.
"Good Morning!!!" The voice of the boy who had scolded Akari spoke again. She rolled her eyes, slightly bored of where this ceremony would be going.
"Y-You don't have to s-say it back..." The voice of a shy, small sounding girl shakily spoke.
"Now then, let us commence with a most noteworthy and memorable entrance ceremony! First, let's talk a bit about what your school life here will be like. Now, ah, make no mistake--you few students, so full of potential, represent the hope of the world. And to protect such splendid hope..." The bears voice said, finally starting the ceremony. "...you will all live a communal life together solely within the confines of this school. Everyone will live in harmony together, and adhere to the rules and regulations of the school."
"Wait," Akari interrupted. "I'm sorry, WHAT?"
"Ah, now then...regarding the end date for this communal life..." The bear continued, abruptly ignoring Akari. "There isn't one! In other words, you'll all be here until the day you die! Such is the school life you've been assigned."
"W-What did he just say? Until the day we d-die...?" The shaky voice of the shy girl said. Akari, who had unexpected this outcome, starting coughing violently as she choked on her gum. The muscular girl in front of her went up to Akari and harshly slapped her on the back, allowing her to spit out her gum. "Thank you," Akari said with a final cough. "I'm sorry, but I don't know about all of you, but I came here for knowledge, not a new house. I was perfectly fine with my family." Akari said, trying to get herself out of this mess.
"Oh, we've taken care of that, don't worry." Monokuma responded before continuing his speech. "Oh, but fear not! We have quite an abundant budget, so you won't lack for all the common conveniences."
"That's the least of our worries right now!" A girl with long, blue hair exclaimed. She made Akari feel slightly uncomfortable, but she didn't mind, as she got this feeling from many people.
"Yeah, what the hell? You're saying I have to live here forever? You're screwing with us, right?" The girl who Akari believed to be Junko Enoshima spoke again.
"I am not screwing with you! I am no liar, of that you can be 100% sure." The bear respond defiantly. It didn't make Akari feel any better though, as who trusts a talking bear? "Ah, and just for your information...you're completely cut off from the outside world. So you don't have to worry about that dirty dirty land beyond these walls ever again!" The bear informed them. Thats when Akari finally realized that's why she couldn't see into the building. They had blocked the windows!
"Cut off...? So all those metal plates all over the school..." A boy with light brown hair spoke. Akari actually felt slightly fond of him, as he sounded caring and his outfit wasn't as weird as everyone elses. "They're there to keep us trapped in here?" He finished his question. It was then when Akari realized how serious this situation is. A small, talking bear had practically kidnapped 16 high schoolers.
"That's exactly what they're there for. No matter how much you may yell and scream for help...help will not come. So with all of that in mind, feel free to live out your life here with reckless abandon!" Monokuma said with a small giggle. His voice still sounded cheerful, which didn't really fit the moment that was going on here. Akari was about to protest when someone talked before her.
"Come on, what the hell is this? I don't care if the school or whoever else is behind it all, this is just a really bad joke." A boy with reddish-orange hair said, which Akari recognized to be that famous baseball player, Leon Kuwata.
"Yeah! Cut this shit out! It isn't funny anymore!" The boy with brown, triangular shaped hair said. Akari recognized him to be the famous Biker Gang Leader, Mondo Owada. Akari sighed. She felt completely out of place with all of these people who actually had talent, while she was just mysterious.
"You keep saying this is a lie, or a joke. A bunch of skeptics, all of you." Monokuma said. Surprisingly, Akari couldn't agree with him more. He did say that he didn't lie, but then again, Akari is also slightly skeptical of him. "But I guess you can't help it, huh? You all grew up in an age where you're taught to doubt your neighbor... Well you'll have plenty of time to find out whether or not what I say is true. And when that time comes, you'll see with your own eyeballs that I speak the undeniable truth." Again, he wasn't wrong. Akari thought of him to be quite smart for a most likely remote controlled bear.
"Having to live here forever would be...quite the problem." A girl with black, curly hair pointed out. Akari recognized her to be Celestia Ludenburg, a famous Gambler. She felt as if her and Celestia would be good friends, as they both seemed to have quite a mysterious attitude to them.
"Come, now. What's the matter with all of you? You decided of your own free will to attend Hope's Peak Academy, didn't you? And now, before the entrance ceremony is even finished, you've already decided you want to leave?" The bear says.
"He has a point." Akari says. "I mean, we chose to come here, so why should we instantly leave? Who knows, maybe we'll actually get an education here."
"Oh, but you know... I guess I did forget to mention one thing. There IS one way for you to leave the school..." Monokuma said, his voice sounding slightly darker. This made Akari feel uncomfortable.
"R-Really...?" The girl with the shaky voice spoke again. Akari noticed she was too talkative to be shy, so she didn't know how to describe her to herself. She instantly recognized her as the famous writing prodigy, Toko Fukawa.
"As headmaster, I've crafted a special clause for those of you who would like to leave! I call it...the Graduation Clause!" The bear said, he sounded back to his cheerful self, but Akari had a bad feeling about what he was going to say. "Now, let me tell you about this fun little rule. As I mentioned, in order to maintain an environment of harmony here, we rely on a communal lifestyle. And if someone were to disrupt that harmony, they and they alone would be allowed to leave the school. That, my students, is the Graduation Clause!" Akari gulped. She didn't like where this was going.
"What do you mean by "disrupt the harmony?" A tall, blonde boy asked, anger in his tone.
Monokuma laughed, and gave him the answer that Akari was hoping wouldn't be the case. "Puhuhu... Well, you know... If one person were to murder another."Word Count: 2,697
