"deidara." the uchiha narrowed his eyes at the blond akatsuki member. the wind blew the grass behind their feet. one of deidara's clay birds exploded in the distance.
"what seems to be the problem? this about your girlfriend, hm?"
"what were your intentions with her last night?"
deidara chuckled, sending another bird across the sky, "nothing really. you've been spending a lot of your time in that village. is it because of her?"
"how i chose to spend my time is none of your business."
"then," deidara faced him, "same for me."
"this is about that girl you were going to attack last night," he gritted through his teeth.
deidara continued tossing clay around. "she's a nice piece of art, i'm sure you agree. very pretty." he shielded his eyes from the glare of the sun.
"deidara. what were you doing there?"
"i didn't even lay a hand on her, since you got in the way. you were there too, maybe you were going to hurt her first. i know she's not your girlfriend, she doesn't even know you," the blond spat.
"you don't know anything about her."
"but you sure know a lot, hm. you were right behind her, you're always right behind her."
"you know nothing about her nor me."
"but i know about your weird little obsession with her, and how you hurt that boy."
itachi slammed his palm on the table in front of deidara. deidara's belongings rolled to the ground.
"so your plan was to hurt her to get back at me?"
"you really shouldn't care about someone when you live a life like your own, especially not someone so weak."
"i'll be very clear," he stepped closer to him, fuming. "if you ever make an attempt to hurt y/n, i will not hesitate to kill you right there. whatever you have against me does not involve her so you will leave her out of this."
deidara threw a hand up. "this isn't about us, anymore. it's about her. you can't keep secrets from her forever and i'll be totally honest."
itachi took a deep breath to calm himself. "stay away from y/n." he turned around when all deidara could respond with was a smirk.
