another visit to the hospital. that's how the entire day was spent. a wonderful waste; eugh.

they told you nothing new besides that your health is getting worse day by day. jeez what a bummer.

"dad why do we keep coming back anyway? you already know it's getting worse. don't waste money on a deadline." you told him while not looking him in the eye.

he needed to face the truth, he had to accept that his little girl is dying but he won't accept it so you took the honors to break it to him.

but why did you avoid his eyes? why did it feel wrong to tell him the fact?

he was looking ahead as he walked out the hospital, the sun setting just beautifully. "[y/n] don't think like that. there is still hop-"

having enough of that crap you rolled your eyes and shoved your hands in the jersey like jacket. "dad! i have a due date, accept it! i'm dying and there's nothing you can do about it!"

"[y/n]!" he snapped. uh oh. he stopped walking and turned his head slightly, watching you from the corner of his eyes.

he saw your alarmed reaction and took a breather, the situation brought back horrible memories, one he wished wouldn't roam his mind daily.

he rubbed his eyes, clearly showing signs of exhaustion. it seems you weren't the only one who was struggling. "i'm not going to have this conversation with you [y/n]."

you decided it was best to stay silent. clearly the man was in denial and breaking that wall would cause another fight to break out.

the two of you walked silently to the gray 2007 nissan versa and entered the car. you sitting in the passenger seat while dad drove.

the car ride home was silent, with dad looking straight ahead and you looking out of the window, watching the orange leaves fall.

when you got to the front gate, you both exited and walked inside, both not taking the chance to start a conversation. this always happened after the visit to the hospital.

before your father could enter his room, you called out to him gently as you could. "i'm sorry."

he only rubbed his temples in response with a dragged sigh. "don't apologize. don't you have a gig tonight?"

you replied awkwardly to his blunt and empty response. "uhm- yea i do." you rubbed your arm to at least do something. "i'll be back."

he just waved you off, entering his room without a seconds waste, shutting his door. why does he always block himself away from me? i should be used to it but it still hurts.

you chewed on your tongue, going to the lounge area in the main floor and grabbed your self-painted guitar.

you stood there for a second, holding the object in your hand. it reminded you of your farm that you happened to be looking at already.

there was a peach tree that was surrounded by lands full of growing plants and flowers that smelt amazing everyday.

shaking your head to focus again, you walked back to the front door. stuffing your feet into each shoe, you tied the lace and headed out.
