A city in Greece existed peacefully where the children would play outside and their mothers watching them and the men would go to their jobs in the morning.
In the lazy afternoon, a young girl was sitting by the porch of her house with her mother "Mom? why can't I play with the other girls?" she asked.

The mother did not say anything but instead, she hugged her daughter and walk inside the house. The young girl just stared at the other children for what seemed like a whole hour.

"It's getting dark already, you better come inside now," The girl's mother called out.

"Yes, mom!" the girl shouted but she decided to stay outside for a little bit longer. Later on, in the horizon she was staring at, she noticed the sun was being blocked off by a circular object. She thought the sight was pretty until...the ball of fire had hit a house in the distance and exploded into a million pieces. She then ran inside her house to find her mother.

(Alright Hi! The name's John Wilt and I'm a soldier from the 1940's or was, well, the year is 2015 and I don't age. You ask how? Oh, uh, never mind that. Here she goes and takes the microphone.)

(Oh, I wish John wouldn't just take my microphone just like that and introduce himself. But don't mind him, it happens most of the time.)

Hello, it's me Maria. I want to tell you a story from a very long time ago.

My farthest memory was when I was still a six-year-old kid and it was during a conflict between Greece and another nation so things went badly for my family and on top of that my father even left us to survive on our own. Eventually the soldiers found our house, just a small regular cottage made of stone and wood. I was hiding behind one of the curtains and my mother was rushing to pack food using the table cloth and rummaging through the shelves. Outside, the city was ablaze and I heard lots of shouting, the noises scared me and I was already shivering.

"M-mom?" I tried to approach my mother, a single tear dropped from my eyes. She stopped and knelt down to look at me.

"Don't worry Maria, I'm almost done packing the things we need, then we can leave, so please stay in the curtains for a bit more," She said while brushing my face. I can feel from her hands that she too is afraid, but she still kept up a warm smile.

"Okay, mom," and she kissed my forehead then she goes back to fixing the piece of cloth she was using to carry some things.

I stood still watching my mother again. In a few minutes, the sound of heavy footsteps are getting louder by the second.
A voice boomed "Break down this door, now!"
My mother lunged in to pull me from the curtains and just then the door broke down and soldiers yelled while charging in.

"Hurry, Maria!" She took my hand and dragged me with her to the table in the center of the room to get the things we need and sprinted towards the stairs. The soldiers were using their spears and swords to break everything in the room.

"Mom! w-where are we going?" I asked while tripping over some steps of the stairs but my mother gripped at my wrist so I wouldn't fall.

"Anywhere but here!" She replied. We reached the second floor of our house and we ran towards the window at the back. I heard the footsteps of the soldiers stomping on the stairs. My mother grabbed a chair and threw it at the window to break the glass. A ladder was placed beforehand. She cleared the rest of the broken glass and lifted me so I can climb down the ladder first.
