I.
Had it not been for Hades coming to fight Poseidon, Kim Dokja's Company would vanish several minutes ago. Han Sooyoung had gone around giving lemon candies to everyone in their party, as a little relief in the chaotic situation. Even Yoo Joonghyuk accepted her lemon candy after a brief moment of coercion.
There is still some time before they execute their plan, so Han Sooyoung sits on the giant soldier's shoulder while looking around. It's not long before Kim Dokja joins her and gives instructions to the members of their group.
"Is it delicious?" Kim Dokja looks at Han Sooyoung and speaks in an unfriendly tone. He is scolding her.
"Strangely, I've been craving something sweet lately. Do you want one?" She shoves the candy she's holding into Kim Dokja's mouth without waiting for an answer from the man. Han Sooyoung looks at Kim Dokja quietly while he eats the candy. "By the way, that's what I was eating."
"So?" The answer from Kim Dokja is quite unexpected. Han Sooyoung was thinking that Kim Dokja might become flustered or something.
"...You are really no fun." She slides down the soldier's shoulder and lands on its palm. Teasing Kim Dokja is not as fun as she had thought.
II.
It has been hours and Kim Dokja is still sitting on the same spot Han Sooyoung saw him when she went outside to search for her weekly supply of lemon lollipops. She isn't sure whether it has been twice or five times she passed Kim Dokja on her way, but out of all the times she noticed Kim Dokja, the man doesn't move an inch.
She spent almost four minutes pondering about whether she should approach the man or not. She decides that she will annoy him so she sneakily walks behind Kim Dokja with the intent of surprising him.
"Don't try anything funny, Han Sooyoung."
"Man, I thought your surprised face would be funny."
"Screw off."
"No. What were you doing?"
"Nothing."
"Bullshit. You were contemplating something. What is it?"
Kim Dokja seemed to think for a moment before answering, "A sub-scenario."
"Why would you think so hard about it? Usually, you would accept it without hesitation."
"This sub-scenario never appeared in the novel."
"And?"
"The failure consequence is death."
"Then don't accept it."
"We need the items," Kim Dokja says hesitantly.
"There should be other ways to collect the items. You don't need to sacrifice your life." Han Sooyoung rolls the lemon lollipop in her mouth with her tongue.
Silence hung between them, leaving only the sound of the wind. Kim Dokja looks at Han Sooyoung and his gaze is glued to the white stick popping out in between her lips.
"What?" Han Sooyoung asks.
"You're going to rot your teeth, sucking on candy almost twenty-four hours a day."
"Sugar is the basic needs of humans, Kim Dokja."
"Not excessively."
"Nonetheless, sugar makes you more relaxed. Here, I'll give this to you." Han Sooyoung rummages the pocket of her hoodie and takes out an unwrapped lemon candy.
